Wow, the most boring books really vary from to people I guess.. some people love The Giver (like me 😳) others hate it and such is true for many other books... Interesting..

Well I have to say that if any of you read "The Tale of Genji" you would surely change your choices. It was the worst book I have ever read!! I read for a World Literature class and boy I still regret it! I mean I was the only one who actually read the entire book.... everyone else didn't even bother reading summaries. It was horrible!

I remember I mentioned earlier on this post that the most boring book ever read was One night at the call center and today I take back my words, it was boring yes , but nothing close to being as boring as the book - "Slow Waltz in Cedar Bend".

The thing seemed to be going on and on forever with no end... I've never been as bored.

I picked up the book from the library only seeing the name of author and since his first book Bridges of Madison County was a nice read! Boy I still regret reading the waltz thing!

i agree with you. I didn't finish " God of Small Things" by Arundhathy Roy . that much boring. there was debate on the worthiness of the theme, she got praise from some of the eminent writers along with Booker prize, but it was/is boring,

One of similarly boring book is Ente Katha " by Kamala Das (Madhavikutty/ Kamala suraiah)

About Ann frank's diary, I really like it.

^^ Nita, I have to agree with you there - God of Small things was one of the most boring books I ever read - come to think of it, it was was boring, that I even forgot that it existed and I even read it , until I saw your post mention!

Definetely the most boring - the earlier books I mentioned here would seem interesting in comparision! 😆

I know, I think I read it the first time in Middle school and I just loved it considering most of the books we read at that time just didn't click 😳.

About The God of Small Things, I had read some great reviews about that and I started to read it but just couldn't finish it. It was extremely boring!

Agree with ya totally, I mentioned in my earlier post as well, I think, the book just didnt live up to the hype at all for me and as someone one of the other book forums I've been to said, with each passing day, one begins to wonder more and more, as to what is the criteria for nominations or selections for a booker prize!

With due respect, but some of the books seem over hyped and fail to hold one's interest for more than a few seconds!

LOL, I thought The God of Small Things was a wonderful book. Beautiful, vivid language and a heartbreaking story. Besides that, the way Roy structured the story was unique -- carefully using flashbacks to reconstruct a character's fragmented memory.

The most boring book I read was Dracula by Bram Stoker.
