Is what Rishi Kapoor said when he was stopped from smoking and drinking in public while in London
Rishi Kapoor created a scene at the St James Hotel in London recently in full view of the public! The actor hurled abuses and colourful expletives at the British security personnel who stopped him at the entrance of the Zee Cine Awards after-party.
Adds an onlooker, "The security personnel were all British and were not familiar with the Indian stars. But as stars are used to not carrying an invite it's their face that gets them an entry, Rishi Kapoor was taken aback when he was asked for the entry pass. He exclaimed that he was Rishi Kapoor the star, yet he was made to wait at the entrance."
Puff, puff
After a few minutes, the actor gave up and walked into the lobby area and lit a cigarette. He'd barely had a few puffs when a hotel personnel asked him to step out of the hotel to finish his ciggie as in London, smoking in public places is banned.
The actor yelled, "I am not living in British Raj" and continued to puff away. Only when they threatened to call security on him did he step outside the hotel.
When he walked out of the hotel, he stepped out, drink in hand. St James Hotel is directly in front of Scotland Yard and drinking on the streets in London is also banned, so another staff member approached the actor and asked him to not to drink outside the hotel. The actor lost his temper and screamed, "So what do you want me to do?
Step out, take a puff, and then step back in and take a sip from my glass?" Rishi then declared that the British were no longer ruling India, and that they had left the country ages ago. His wife Neetu Kapoor and son Ranbir Kapoor along with beau Deepika Padukone were also present with him.
Says an eyewitness, "An agitated Rishi then walked off in a huff with his family and declared he would leave the country the following day."
