DEVIL MAY CARE: SRK called Amar Singh a devil at the Filmfare awards but said the comments were in jest.

Mumbai: Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan is facing protests from Samajwadi Party workers outside his home in Mumbai.

Several party activists, carrying banners and shouting slogans, gathered outside SRK's bungalow, Mannat, in suburban Bandra on Monday afternoon.

The workers are demanding that the actor apologise for calling Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh a darinda (devil), at the Filmfare Awards function last week.

Amar Singh has reportedly forgiven Shah Rukh Khan after being asked to do so by Gauri Khan, the actor's wife, but party supporters aren't satisfied.

President, Uttar Bharatiya Sangam, Ramashankar Tiwari says, "Shah Rukh Khan has insulted our leader by calling him a devil. We condemn this abusive language, and we demand an apology."

Samajwadi Party, however, denied it had anything to do with the protest.

"The protests are not be organised by Samajwadi Party. They are being organised by some North Indian organisations and some of our workers are pariticipating as members of those organisations. We do not have any hand in this," party MP Abu Azmi informed.

Shah Rukh Khan had in the awards ceremony also clarified that the comments were meant in "pure jest" and he did not mean to hurt anyone's feelings.

MUMBAI: Angered at Shahrukh Khan's reported comments on their party leader Amar Singh at a recent film awards function, Samajwadi Party workers as well as members from other organisations on Monday staged protests outside the actor's residence here.

I just hope SRK doesn't get hurt by this behavior ...he gets really sensitive when it concerns the audience ...I hate it when they start this kind of stories 😡

i feel that sum ppl need to learn how to take stuff lightly!! every single thing is taken so seriously that it seems as if ppl have simply lost it! i mean how long is this going to last, it was only a simple joke which probably everyone forgot about the next minute! ... srk was just entertaining, at the end y wud he say anything on purpose?.... sum ppl seriously need to learn how to react to humor!

Who care about Amar singh ?...think that he n his party has been influenced by some1 who is really jealous of SRK's hosting this award or some other grudges ...dont know...just my opinion ...for SRK Haters, no need to get offend...thnks

hahaha its funny how shahrukh fans suddenly get some sense of humor when it involves him making a comment in jest. But god forbid if anyone else remotely makes a comment about srk then it has to be "serious"..

Frankly that was the only remark of SRK during the filmfare awards that I found in bad taste...you can make such remarks if the person is a bum chum is sure to take it lightly..e.g. if he had made it to K Jo or Saif ...but since he has a history with Amar Singh he shouldnt have said it!
