Jaya Bachchan is a strong woman👏. Even with all the rumours she accepted the role in Silsila which was offered to another actress who back out. That confrontation scene was wonderful.
Now I wonder if Ash really had tears of joy or tears of fear😉
Maya,Silsila was supposed to be filmed with Parveen Bhabhi and Smita Patil...and NO,they didnt opt out,but Big B convinced Yash Chopra into signing Jaya and Rekha
Here's what a glossy has to say...This is a part of the write up(premise being why the Bachchans had to rush with the Ash Abhi engagement) that appeared in Cine Blitz issue of February 2007
"During the 80's,when his career was going through a rare lull,Amitabh in order to stir up things a bit had supposedly changed the cast of Silsila overnight.Yash Chopra had already signed Smita Patil and Parveen Bhabhi, infact probably also shot with them for a day or two when Bachchan convinced Chopra to replace them with Jaya and Rekha and assured the director that he would talk to both the women.Jaya had already stopped working. What's more, she was not going through a very happy phase in her marriage because of her husband's dalliance with Rekha. But Bachchan apparently couldnt care less despite knowing what an ordeal it would be for both the women to not only come face to face but also to go through the painful act infront of the camera. The women agreed, but the film flopped.Amitabh Bachchan's career flourished either ways.It was Jaya and Rekha who had to endure the emotional roller coaster calle Silsila"
