one of my friends recently mentioned that amitabh had an affair with rekha, jaya prada and parveen didnt get the love back from him. so i read about his affair in one other post. since i dont know much about his affair can anyone enlighten on it such as from which movies it started? was it before he married or later? how did he land on marrying jaya then? no offense to any AB fans 😛

All I know is that Amitabh and Rekha had an affair and wanted to get married, for some reason they didnt, Amitabh married Jaya. There are many reports that Amitab continued his affair with Rekha after marraige with Jaya. Then Amitabh had an accident where he almost died, Jaya took care of him, he learned his lesson that he should be faithful to his wife. Amitab and Jaya lived happily ever after. The end. Watch the movie Silsila if you want to see their love story on screen. Still puzzles me till today, how any of them agreed to do this movie as it mirrors their own life. Must have been embarassing to act your own life. 😆

I must kindly disagree. Amit fell in love with Rekha first, but Rekha was not the legal child to GeminiGanesan, like second or third wife. Gemini Ganesan was the casanova of the Tamil industry he had like 5 or 6 wives, the guy was a nut he fell in love with other every woman that came across his path, anyways her father never legally accepted Rekha as his daughter till she became super famous. Rekha past was troubling to Amit parents, so they put a speed breaker to their love story and got Amit married to Jaya. Amit wasnt such a good boy he was still seeing his lady love behind his saintly wife back. But he learned his lesson and eventually realized the worth of Jaya. I dont think Rekha ever recovered though.

yes rekha was from south india, just like sridevi. like sridevi she found fame and money only working in bollywood in hindi movies. But the whole rekha and gemini ganesan drama was so fascinating. she hated her father guts for ignoring her and even blamed him for a long time for her split from amitab. but soon after gemini's death, rekha had renewed respect for her father, and always publicly said how much she loved him and how gemini ganesan is the true star of indian cinema not amitab bachan. wow now that is sticking it to your x love.
