Ranveer is a builder's son and has hung out in the rich social circle of Mumbai since childhood. He grew up with Rohan Shreshtha. Rohan's father was a well known Bollywood photographer and so is Rohan now. RS knew the networking route by hanging out in the same circle. His father having paid a hefty amount to YRF for his debut was a strong rumour back in the day.

However, there are many such big builder families in Mumbai and their children do not get debuts through YRF. Ranveer was good in his auditions , hence Adi took him in. The payup may have happened later. We also cannot forget Karan Johar admitting several times how he tried his best to brainwash Adi Chopra to drop him from BBB. Would Karan Johar have done that to Ranbir ?? NO..NEVER.

Comparing RK's privilege to RS and Vicky is a joke and comparing anyone to Alia's privilege is a HEINOUS CRIME.

2011-2015 He played supporting role in Sanju, was an extra in Bombay Velvet etc:

2015- Masaan was his debut movie with a budget of 7 crores. Then he did Zubaan with a budget of 8 crores.

2019 - It was only he then did a mid budget movie like URI:

FROM 2009 TO 2015 IT TOOK VICKY 7 YEARS TO GET HIS ML ROLE, PLEASE DONT COMPARE HIM WITH THOSE OTHER NEPOS,

He auditioned, did side roles, was an extra, did supporting roles, his first movie was a small movie it is just now that he can do movies with 100+crores with his name. Dont compare him with that nepo Ranbir. Got movies even while flopping as a nepo.

Are we also forgetting that ranveer actually is talented and is a good actor from his very first film, and its possible that adi chopra liked his auditions and cast him. And I also spoke about anushka, did her dad buy her role in RNBDJ? Her dad isn't rich, yet anushka got cast opposite srk and adi chopra directed the film, that's a way bigger privileged debut than what ranveer got, how did she manage to do that? Again, anushka is talented and she got picked because of that talent.

Ranveer actually is talented, and deserves to get movies, many nepos that are coming out nowadays can't even act. Yet people are complaining and questioning why ranveer gets movies lol, should talent and good actors not get movies and projects?

People hype and worship mediocre to slightly above average nepos to skies like Bira & Alia and than complain as well about nepotism.

I think rk and alia are good actors, but their high level of privelage can't be denied. And tbh, it is what it is, in any industry you will get those that have more of an advantage and have it easier than others, that's just how the world is, it's not a level playing field

Agree they are good actors, but not that much good which the industry insiders/ their god fathers and stans try to make them out to be (Meryl Strep level sh1t , and all)

Ranveer is Sonam Kapoor s 2nd cousin also.

He also mentioned he used to go to a club that Kareena also visited.

Who has denied RK's privilege on this thread? RK is Super- Privileged!! The only ones denying privilege are Ranveer's fans.

Being Jagit Singh's son. Working with all the top directors since Day 1. Never having to do supporting roles like Vicky or Varun. Never having straight to OTT releases like Shahid or Rajkumar or Sid. If this isn't privilege, I don't know what is. But he's talented- So are all these guys.

RK & Ranveer are the two most Privileged actors this industry has ever seen. No struggle required. Please don't compare the Silver Spoon Babies with guys like Vicky Kaushal. They're not the same.

Maneesh sharma was a top director? Lol BBB was his first film then ranveers second film was with maneesh sharma. Third film was with vikram Aditya motwane who wasn't a big director. Slb had gone through a bad phase of guzaarish and saawariya flopping when he offered ranveer a film. I think somebody else is in denial here lol, the attempt at trying to equate rs to rks privilege

And what was the budget of BBB compared to saawariya? Saawariya was made on a budget of 45-50 crores, BBB had a budget of 13-15 crores, that's a big difference

Maneesh Sharma came from YRF's stable of prodigies that included the likes of Sid Anand, Kabir Khan, Kunal Kohli, Shaad Ali, Shimit Amin and the likes. They all were assistant directors and were given grand debuts by YRF. Ranbir too worked with the same stable in his earlier films.

The only other male actor who YRF has launched as a leading man with such fanfare is Arjun Kapoor. I'm sure there's no privilege involved here. 🤣
