I thought to make it a poll, but I wanted to add my own thoughts with the options.

That's a very good reason to add to the list. Some people do that too. I like those type of deactivators. 😂😂

In my trolling days, I'd make a burn post... leave them burning and walk away smiling and forgetting about them, but not deactivating. If you start a burn post and deact, they stop commenting and the burn soon calms down. Leave them in there ranting, thinking you will be back for them... 😁

Hibernation is fine. There are genuine reasons for it.

Although there are some people who do it for unnecessary reasons, an expectation from attention seeking. Which will only let them down in the future and defeats the objective of finding social fun.

One can hibernate, it's not a question on that. There are some cases which can be overcome on the 'need' to hibernate.

For people who hibernate for attention shouldn't bother us.

Live and let live or would say let them hibernate.

Special cases are not given any special attention anyway.

If these special cases, some people, attention seekers are bothering anyone then time to take Digital Detoxification than finding reasons for their hibernation.

Yes reason number 2.

To stop yourself forcefully, to allow that time for yourself and other things in life.

Social Media is addictive, and it's a valid reason if you are an addict eho needs a break, that is the only option you have.

Addiction is not something you can easily gain control over. It is a real and unless you fight it or lose interest it will persist for a long time.

People have different reasons and the freedom to do what they want, why do we caresmiley36

We are all strangers on this forum, and we don't know anyone's personal life to know why someone hibernated/deactivated. If I have to pick a simple reason, then its because life calls so they left. I prefer not to judge/assume/shame anyone whether they deactivate or not.

I'm trying to understand the main reasons why people rely on the hibernation and deactivation features.

1. Some people actually believe that it makes you appear Elite. smiley39

They think being in active status in Social media will mean that you are always available and non exclusive.

Hilarious!! Didn’t read anything after these 2 lines. Hibernation mein bhi elite smiley37 yeh logo ka superiority complex kab khatam hoga re baba smiley44

I agree with you. No one knows the actual reason except the person who deactivates. We are just speculating.
