Doesn’t the fact that Kjo’s instinctive reaction was to hold up his arms worry anyone? They’re supposed to be best friends. Wouldn’t he know it if she was joking?

You really think she would've thrown the mug? She was joking in hyper obnoxious self.

It's also human instinct to raise your arms when you see someone even jokingly threaten. There's not much into it.

Rani was also saying Karan hit her in the beginning, but that was far from the truth. Old friends joking around.

I get that she was “joking”. But I don’t think threatening violence is something that should be joked about. Specially in an active manner like that where she actually picked up the mug and raised her arm in a throw pose.

Bold: I disagree. When you know the person is joking your instinct can be anything from matching their behavior to yelling to ignoring. Taking a defensive posture IMO is instinctive only when you are afraid they might hurt you. Maybe this is more about KJo himself than Kajol but … ugh.

I don't know. I feel it depends on your equation with the person involved. It may seem odd to a third party, but if you have been friends as long as they have been with many ups and downs, that relationship is different. Even siblings fights are like this. You know they/you/ won't throw that item in hand; but you threaten all the same. KJo was also laughing throughout.

Anyway, to each their own. I didn't see anything wrong. Kajol is known to be cray. It felt business as usual to me, even Rani didn't seem too surprised.
