Is that really of any importance? If you liked Pathaan, you will - hopefully - still like it even if Gadar 2 gets more crores in the Indian boxoffice...

I like that I get additional input about Sunny here...it's so rare that one talks about him in the forum...

As for Akshay...well, I think he has (understandably) become quite insecure about his position in Hindi Cinema...

It would be great if Gadar 2 sustaines until Jawan releases...

You're totally wrong, snatch...totally (don't know why)...how on earth did you get the impression that I'm a "fundamentalist" and even a "religious" one and in addition a "typical" one... I'm honestly baffled...

Refering to collections: I repeat that I don't believe in numbers...but I don't like if one tries to laud one movie for the honesty of the numbers and alleges to others that they hadn't been honest...those people just don't know (they only pretend to know, they get told, they get numbers, that's all)...it could also be part of a pr, right?

I've decided to don't trust regardless the movie...it's just not important enough to me.

I am an Aamir fan too but Dil and Raja Hindustani which clashed with Ghayal and Ghatak respectively, have aged badly. While both Ghayal and Ghatak have become timeless classics.

That’s why I want Sunny to collaborate with Rajkumar Santoshi again. I am sure there are stories to be told by a 60 year old without having to deage him but still appeal to the masses.

ohh yeah I totally forgot about that big Aamir-Sunny rivalry as well..Dil is so problematic on so many levels as well...peak 90s era, a fake Metoo movement, an attempted rape scene, which helps the two characters fall in love..by god kya kya dikhaate they😆 the movie is shitty..and feminists would be up in the arms if something like this was made today😆

I agree..Rajkumar Santoshi makes socially relevant movies..in the post Sunny-RKS collab era, Bhagat Singh is definitely my favourite movie..Lajja was bit too much for me...but Khakhee and Ajab prem ki were two underrated gems as well..

He has no future as a solo hero. And I doubt Sunny will entertain him anymore.

The forceful manner in which they lumped that girl’s hands into Tara’s asking him to make her into his bahu. Lol. Which parents will do that? It was just to give that mass appeal to Jeete and elevate him. All that track was just so unnecessary and boring. It was all a blur to me because I just didn’t care to know anything about that girl nor her family.

That's why I labeled it a LOL story. It had no depth or substance.

I am so glad you watched it. And my review is ditto. I was blown away by the acting, the content and how the movie is still relevant after nearly 30 years. But you won’t find this timeless classic being mentioned in any of the lists. Even the most frivolous movies like Raja Hindustani and Dil to pagal hai make to these so called lists but none of Sunny’s movies. And then we take dig at him that he is not relevant anymore. I was just lucky to find him accidentally thanks to Haila_tu, atominis, panganale who spoke highly of Sunny in a Gadar related thread a couple of months back.

Another relevant old classic would be Arjun, an 80s flick. You must be aware of Damini. He stole the thunder with his 30 minute appearance.

Khakhee, AAA, Bhagat Singh, Dil hai tumhara, halla bol- some of his non sunny gems that I happened to watch. Can you imagine directors like him not getting reckoned amongst the best directors but the directors like Karan Johar are there everywhere. It’s truly jo dikhta hai wahi bikhta hai.

And how underrated has Juhi gotten anyways. She was a national crush at one time & the only actress I can think of who made 🔥🔥🔥 pairs with every top actor. Aamir, SRK or Sunny.

There's also Dacait which I'd call underrated. Lootere is a typical 90s flick and his chemistry with Juhi was damn good. 👌🏻

I watched Arjun and cannot stop singing its praises. I was shocked to discover how its raw fight scenes have been copied in many action movies . Ramgopal Verma named the movie as one of the top 5 movies which influenced him as a director. In fact his debut movie Shiva has been inspired from Arjun.

Oh yeah, who doesn’t know Govind of Damini.❤️
