Talking about the film, I was glad that her clown husband was killed off, I couldn’t see such a pretty woman with that idiot, Arjun was way hotter 😍

Well the only other defense I will make for Arjun’s character is I have seen much worse creeps in real life. Only in real life they are never hot and successful. They sad lonely buddah looking Uncle Ji’s.

Tum Bin was just a better-made film. To Mallika's point, Arjun's character was remorseful. But he would have been guilty of manslaughter if not cold-blooded murder. He was drinking and driving. That too after he had a sober driver with him in the form of his best friend who volunteered twice to drive for him. Beyond that, he would definitely have been convicted of stalking. I can't believe his father encouraged him initially. He should have told him off for it. Maybe that part is just progressing times. What seemed appropriate in 2003 is not just appropriate anymore. In Tum Bin even though it was a car accident. He literally had no choice. A little girl came in his way. It was going to be the little girl or the man that was the original fiance. And he was never stalking another man's fiance initially. He does not just help the family because of memory loss. No one knew he was the killer. Still, he helps the family's business start going again. He creates beautiful bonds with everyone. And he confesses he was responsible for the death of the man's father. He even offers to turn himself in jail.

Arjun’s character was an idiot for drunk driving, because it’s common sense to not be behind the wheels when you are completely hammered, he was a moron for not listening to his sober friend when she offered to drive either. He didn’t kill them off though, it was an accident but I am pretty sure it still comes under criminal offence, because of his foolishness 2 lives were lost. The second arc of the movie was dedicated to his repentance, like MIB mentioned, and he was genuinely repenting, torturing himself mentally over and over, because god knows the feeling of guilt can kill a person from inside, but Tia fell for him nonetheless even though he kept his distance from her, kept denying her advances as well since he felt responsible for his actions so he took care of her son and her.

yeah it would have been manslaughter not first degree murder. It would not have involved malice or intent to even kill. But because he chose to drive intoxicated. There was no way he was going to be found innocent for the charge manslaughter .

Ideally and legally he should have been behind bars but like someone else mentioned, then there was no point of the film 😆

Always felt Vrinda Rai was writing from experience after Salman's hit and run accident, seemed uncanny.

I will tell you a funny story about this film. When it ends with Arjun’s character playing with Anshu the son. My mom goes that is it ? I was like yea? What else were you expecting? She goes they never explored the Arjun Aish chemistry fully. Clearly she wanted more romantic scenes between them afterwards? 🤣

Tbh Priyanshu was a cutie back in those days but he was deliberately made to look like a clown so that we all could swoon over Arjun and curse Tia for marrying that idiot 🤔😆

Priyanshu was very handsome. He was taller than Arjun. Yeah but his character was a bit clownish. I found him funny though . 😆

but yeah Arjun and Aish didn’t get enough romantic scenes !

Exactly. Even though it is a movie, it showed Jai’s remorse well & he was deeply remorseful. He got Tia in the end not b/c of who he was, but who he became. After everything went down, the man transforms. Earlier Jai would’ve probably jumped at the chance to be with Tia, eff her husband, but after accidentally killing her husband, he realises what he’s done & suffers through the repercussions; only to distance himself from her greatly & literally run away from her even when she wants cosy up to him b/c she fell for him.

I mean, worked for me. 🤷‍♀️

Yeah same here. And these are just films at the end of the day, I don’t take them that seriously, his character did repent and that’s all that matters. His father did mention that from the day the accident happened and she lost her memory, he has had been repenting and feeling guilty for his actions, waiting for her memory to recover so that she could punish him. His guilt was enough to torture him everyday, when he had to see an amnesia struck widow and her child in his house over and over, and also he was still head over heels for her, but he knew it was ethically wrong to pursue her since he did ruin her life, so he maintained his distance from her as much as possible. So yeah it worked for me as well since it was her own decision to forgive him and start a life with him, typical BW drama 😆
