How is liking a movie before and disliking after luck? Maybe the movie appealed to a certain time or maybe a movie appealed to a certain age groupe. Again, it s a all subjective. If a movie becomes a huge hit, it s rarely luck. For multiple hits, luck plays even less of a part. Here people are saying shahrukh’s success who has been a big star for 40 years is just luck. Kartrina was a huge star for more than a decade.

You have to consider that not everyone has the same tastes as you. Millions of people enjoyed those akshay movies, that s why they were hits. If he won a lottery ticket and bought tickets to his movies with that money, it would be luck. You not understanding why those movies were liked by so many people doesnt make it luck.

Ajay was ugly. Lacked versatility. His success is purely due to nepotism and ability to do action, good music in 90s films, good ability in intense roles.

Saif is also nepo product and got too many chances to improve. He did well later but he would never get so many chances if he was not a nepo kid.

In my opinion, it would be unjust to label anyone's hardwork as sheer good luck.

No one can be lucky forever to sustain in any industry.

Tbh this but esp in BW, it’s an incredibly ruthless industry. Even someone like Sonam works very hard to sustain herself & do her horrible, nasally-voiced acting.

Now that you are reprashing, I would agree that there has to be some luck to be present somewhere at the right time. In that way all industry insiders got lucky with the instant choices they had. All the yesteryear actors, filmmakers, music artists were somewhat lucky bcoz industry was not that intolerant towards outsiders earlier. In that sense they were lucky to have made their dubut back then. Also that the projects they were a part of were hits bak then.Anyone wha has made it in that industry must have some luck by their side to have made big in that cut throat competitive industry.

I only had problem with the fact that everything cant be just luck. Otherwise I agree to some luck being by their side. Some got lucky with connections and some with timing.

Anyway all the names taken in this thread definitely have some luck on their side. I believe most of them who has made big had some luck and fate by their side.

Why do you think YRF and Dharma patronized SRK?? Were they doing some kind of charity?? Was SRK related to them?? Were they indebted to SRK in some way??Why would a profit making production house invest in SRK???

Why do you think Yash Chopra couldn't make his own flesh and blood ...his son Uday a superstar if he had the power to make a random guy a superstar?? Why?? Did he love SRK so much that he wanted to make SRK a superstar but not his own son who was desperate to be a star??

Do you have a logical answer other than chanting luck??

Can anyone survive in a cut throat industry like BW....just on luck for almost 40 years??.......this is the most illogical shit I am reading....and I am surprised because its coming from someone who is a rational thinker.....I am not surprised at what some hardcore hater of SRK is saying.....but I am surprised at you saying the same....

Luck merely is about an opportunity life throws at you. What you do with it thereafter is what is important.

Yes, there are loads of untalented people in Bollywood right now but I won't call any of them sustaining sheer luck.

Even the likes of Neha Kakkar etc - even if we call them talentless, fact is their songs / videos get millions of views. Whether people view their songs because they genuinely like them or to bash them, fact is work is done. Views are generated and that's what makes them the money. And the cycle goes on.

Maybe real luck for all these stars today is the invention of the internet, because till the 90s, unless you clicked, you couldn't sustain. Now anyone can become famous and make money regardless of whether you have talent or not, as long as you use the right method to attract the audience.

To answer your question on who is lucky - all the stars who entered the industry after 2000.

Katrina. I cannot get over how unrelatable she is onscreen. Her bland persona onscreen, there's just nothing to relate to. It's sheer luck for her.
