I dunno if it is silly or not but I'd take Dharmendra's reaction at 0:35 over most of the faux realistic, nuanced, layered nonsense these days.

I was about to post it and I am glad someone else noticed the exact same overacting (we have worse now) and even the silly trope of men recognising each other as brothers only after a song was sung.

Otherwise they keep meeting throughout the film but never noticed each other or recognised familiarity otherwise.

Dharam is a bit of a ham but seems better now compared to expressionless actors of today.

I also wonder what if someone sang same song that this family used to sing. Would they call him brother without confirming anything?

He was the greatest ham and over acting king of all time with his excessively stylised dialogue delivery and excessive pride at his own voice.

He seems to be in love with his own voice and style.

I am okay with depiction of intimate scenes then but I totally cannot digest nonsense of calling someone bhaiya or beta by simply seeing a locket, pendant or tattoo or amulet or birth mark.

The most ridiculous sequence is in film Roti where man who forces woman into prostitution recognised the woman as his own daughter after her blouse was torn and she had a particular birth mark on her arm and he suddenly said she was his daughter, lost in Kumbh Mela.

LMAO! And woman also accepted him and called him pita ji and hugged her own trafficker/pimp. Wah.

How the hell did trafficker become pita ji without further confirmation or proof of his being indeed the woman's parent? No DNA test. Just a scar or birth mark was enough.

Yeah. Everyone sings in chorus and dances in sync all of a sudden in films out of nowhere along with hero and heroine anywhere be it in streets or trains or a ship or plane.

Worst was easily the Jo hona hai so hona hai song in Pyar toh hona hi tha where people even dance in a flight instead of sitting properly.
