i agree, deepika is better of the worst lot, why just her, even aishwarya and priyanka were not known for their acting

it was said that priyanka didn't do well in movies like 7 khoon maaf because she was compared to the previous actors, but she stole the thunder from deepika in BM and is considered very good

in fact i would say the quality of female roles in some films have gone up, especially in madhuri's time the films were very tacky.

madhuri in a baji rao, padmavat, a sridevi in a 2 states would have taken it several notches up, with all the padding, technology itself current actresses cant deliver a decent performance

no wonder audience footfalls to theater have fallen, put on reels in insta and you will find tons of talented ppl doing dance, comedy and whatnot and you will be more entertained

its painful to watch jhanvi and ananya "act", i would rather watch reels

Yes. Too many options for timepass. Too much global content and content of past and present eras. Lot to choose from.

And new celebs are so over exposed and not unique.

So why would people go crazy for them? New generation does not even find old classics good nor likes old stars much as they have already seen different content globally and often seen way better animated films also. Why would they obsess over a star? I have honestly also lost craze for many films I liked as a kid and teen. And lost craze for many actors. Nor I liked anyone after Hrithik and Rani/Preity/Ash generation.

Availability of more options, games, video games, apps, global content, streaming apps etc has totally reduced charm of actors. Otherwise earlier even TV actors had more craze compared to replaceable boys and girls of today.

Well said. Deepika seems best because lot is worst. PC totally overshadowed DPad in Bajirao despite her flop streak.

I totally agree Sri, Hema, Rekha, MD, Ash would have taken films like 2 States, Highway, Padmavat blah blah notches higher. Alia is overrated AF. Preity too could have aced any role this child woman Alia does.

I agree YouTube, Insta and Tik tok have better entertainers, writers and content creators than filmi lot.

I myself watch social media and internet way more than traditional tv or films or web series now.

Independent creators are far better.

But why haven't they achieved the Khans or Madhuri level of superstardom?

Discuss.

1. Too much presence due to social media

2. No mystery

3. No aspirational feeling evoked in the hearts of the audiences

Totally..last time I saw organic and real craze for a star was Hrithik. Organic craze. Not manufactured by PR or marketing.

I have never seen anyone win over audience same way again ever since.

RK, RS, VD, Tiger etc all took ages to grow gradually on audience.

People had posters of Rohit from KNPH on their walls 😆 I too had one.

Yes I had KNPH poster too and I had a friend whose brother collected Coke crowns just to collect HR posters and cards from Coke and get chance to meet HR or get his signed posters. The kid would dance to KNPH songs in a loop all day and go to random canteens also collecting discarded Coke crowns for Hrithik. Haha...good old days...

I have never seen such pure childlike love for a new actor from his first film itself the way HR won over everyone.

Back then none of us even knew what PR was. Over exposure via SM wasn’t there as well. Things and times have changed. Most of the stardom now seems fabricated. The Khans are the last superstars IMO and now even that superstar era is gone.
