I honestly couldn't give a fig about Bollywood these days, or anyone in it. Haven't been to the cinema in literal years and even on OTT I watch less than half of what is released.
But man. Shah Rukh Khan 🤩. As someone who's grown up with his movies, I cannot describe how this moment is making me feel. As many people have said, this feels personal. Whether because of the boycott mandali, the increasingly divisive political class, the traumatic things Shah and his family have been through in the past years, or whether simply because he is who he is, this feels monumental. The film may well not stand up to the greatest of the greats in years to come, but this moment will be remembered.
Not to take away from Deepika, John, Salman or others, whose contributions also add up to Pathaan's success, but this proves that some people severely underestimated audiences' love for Shah Rukh Khan. A love he's earned every step of the way for 30 years. There are and will be other success stories, but there's only one Baadshah, one Baazigar, one King Khan 👑.
There's only one SRK, and I'm so, so happy for him ❤️. Man, what a moment!
