Yesterday while scouring through various apps to watch something with kids of the family I stumbled upon Lagaan in YouTube and ended up watching the whole movie at one go.

The cast, the story, cinematography everything was stellar. The stakes were very high and the villagers had to come over their differences and fight together. Amir Khan was utterly brilliant, the fire in his eyes to win at any cost, his constant leadership and support to his team was wonderful to watch.
It's kinda sad to think what has become of him, he used to be nations pride with films like Sarfarosh, Jo jeeta wahi sikander, Rang De Basanti etc. He was always versatile among his contemporaries. Did he became overconfident? Was he too ahead of himself! Whatever it is, the glory is lost ...
Also Ashutosh Gwarikor! What happened to him, from lagaan to panipat what a downgrade !
