Changing sanitary napkins in public? Yikes
This family got some issues 🤣
What kind of a stupid argument is this “she hasn’t known hardship.” As if well-to-do people don’t suffer hardships. Lmaooo. 🤪 Am sure Shweta has had her own difficulties to deal with, a failed marriage is no joke.
It’s all relative & people here need to really really get off their sanctimonious horses.
OT: Shweta here is right. Billion £ industries obviously feed off women’s insecurities & it’s trite of Navya to say that “they can tune out the noise.” In her early 20s, she probably can, but a 50 year old woman cannot.
Hatred for shweta in the thread😆
Navya is talking from pretty privilege, when you look like that it's easy to say just block it out the noise, it's like some elite kid telling a middle class to just work harder to become rich.
World doens't work like that , all young kids boys and specially girls, it's highly pressured to look certain way, every single imperfections is highlighted and used by society, and corporate at large to make money from, shweta di was correct here.
It's pretty rich that people brush away ridiculous statements from the likes of Navya etc under the carpet saying she's "inexperienced" or "oh she's a kid".
She's 25 ffs. That's grown enough for actual people in the real world working their asses off. People be getting married at that age, transitioning from jobs, or looking to get into a better career. She should be more informed than spreading fake corporate propaganda of "rich businesses working for the masses". That tune it out advice sucks donkey balls. A rosy vision of an inept starlet whose money is churning her entrepreneur dream would talk like that. She hasn't talked to even one of the beneficiaries of her Aara Health or Project Naveli. The farce rich folks get away with.

Well... I'm not one of the rich folk. At 25, I was working as you said, nearly 80 hours a week, and partnered up also. I was still an idiot and can see myself saying exactly what Navya said. So I'm gonna cut her a little slack on this one.

Whos side is Jaya on?
I don't know about her. But I am yours forever. I am always on your side.
I think what Navya meant was that women can or should try to tune out the noise.
What if women stopped letting media or society affect them or accepted their age as it is? Like Nafisa ji, Waheeda ji who have always sported their greys, wrinkles as it is and never tried to use botox etc?
It is difficult but I think somewhere someone needs to make an attempt to stop making everything about looks when it comes to women.
It used to irritate me as a kid also when people used to focus more on my looks than my ideas or academic achievements. So Navya may have not worded it correctly and sounded casual but her intention was not wrong or misplaced either.

To an extent, sure. But the fact that they never have to worry about money makes a huge difference in the overall hardships one faces. Money doesn’t buy happiness. But it’s incredibly naive to think that money doesn’t help towards gaining that happiness to varying degrees.
There are a lot of people in the world who are one pay check away from losing their car, their home, even the ability to put food on the table. If they live in a country where there’s no free healthcare they have to worry about where their next supply of insulin or asthma medication might come from. Even if they are middle class and don’t have to worry about all of the above, they have to worry about their kids’ college education which can cost an arm and a leg. And if god forbid they have an accident and can’t work for a few months they can literally lose a lot and be in the same situation as the examples at the top of the paragraph. Is it fair and justified to say well Shweta faced hardships too because her marriage failed and now she goes on her Maldives vacations with her parents instead of her husband? Again, I understand that Shweta has faced a lot of failures and they’ve affected her emotionally but she’s never had to worry about any of the things regular people have to worry about and that makes a huge difference. Not to mention that she has the resources to seek help for her emotional issues.
I will reiterate what I said in my last post. Hardship can be relative but only up to an extent. A well to do person not having to ever worry about money puts them at an exponential advantage over people who have to worry about money and that makes all the difference in the world when it comes to hardships.

I'm younger than Navya and I air my stupid opinions from time to time. My main point of contention is with her false portrayal of herself and how she's sidelining the actual NGOs and the development workers/ professionals. There was a huge thread on Twitter about this. But I digress, I just despise the farce. I won't cut her slack, but that's just me. To each their own.
