Are lines of morality blurred nowadays in relationships?

Just looking at my parent's generation, fidelity and commitment were actually a big deal. Cheating was not so common, I'm not saying it didn't happen, but adultery was generally looked down upon.

Now, it seems that the lines are blurred and people of both genders are indulging more and more in adultery, one-night-stands, and even open marriages.

Why is this? Is the era of innocence over for good? Is it because technology has abetted this?

I want to reveal a personal anecdote here.

This guy who was a senior in my first organization, is in an open marriage and both are in it for mutual convenience. He is sleeping with a lady who is ten years his senior and this "relationship" has been going on since 2008. Not only that, recently he expressed the desire to be with me. I turned him down, but I was a bit shocked at the audacity. Needless to say, he didn't take the rejection sportingly, saying he wants to "break" my shyness.

I am an old soul and I believe in eternal love and devotion towards one person. Yes, I've had my share of relationships but always with the goal of marriage (it's another matter that this didn't happen according to plan). Every time I get into a relationship, I realize I'm better off single as loyalty and fidelity - 2 basic concepts -- have dwindled to nothingness.

We live in the age of instant gratification. I see people cheating on their partners left right and center, especially at workplaces.

It's one thing that scares me the most about marriage.

Unfortunately, yes. It's the era of open relationships. Commitment, loyalty, fidelity are extinct. To me if there is no loyalty in a relationship, then there is no relationship.

Minty I have been here only a few weeks. You have made men go crazy for you, this guy, your bff husband, your ex boss. .. and many more. They lose all senses around you and cross all boundaries. HR issues..not a problem, close family friends..it doesn't matter! they are all prepared to give up everything for you!!

It's at this stage you need to recognise that you are too hot for the world.. it must be such a burden to carry being this hot. Do you even need to take warm showers? Cuz you already so hot? How are you doing this? Please share your tips on this forum so all the other ladies and gents can learn and we can all become a group of the most desirables

what problems? she can do whatever she likes whenever she likes and i will be a freebird as well. No judgement and no fake morality. We will just be bound by love. Anyway giving space in a relationship is most important.
