Of course it must have been those damn vegans being demanding.

People used to say/think the same about vegetarians 50 years back.

You don't ask, you don't get. You don't make a fuss, you don't get heard.

People understand vegan better than vegetarian though. I still get questions like if I can eat egg as a vegetarian or if seafood is considered vegetarian etc! That’s why I just say I am a vegan to escape from such annoying questions/suggestions.

Yes a big problem in North America to find vegetarian food.

Even candies, chocolates, yoghurt, gummies etc have eggs and gelatin. Gelatin can be of pork, beef or fish.

They may say it's vegan, and also say that it may contain eggs or meat.

Porcupine you can find all kinds of vegan foods in the USA it is just a matter of looking, like any restricted diets it takes work, just ask paleo or keto people...anyway your gelatins gummies candies should be no problem at all there are at least four substitutes you can use, two of them are stapples in my pantry (meaning tried and verified) in fact most marshmellows have a veg based gel agent. If you need suggestions just say so. Honestly I have more trouble finding just natural, pure fat, gluten rich, butter, whole milk and non diet "enhanced" products than I do the tampered with for "my health" items ....

Do you know that the hotel just didn't simply eff up? or misrepresent something or misunderstand her requirements when taking her reservation? Would this be the first time service in any hotel, however elite or exotic it may be, has not sucked? Don't people taking reservations ever make mistakes? Didn't someone ever eff up on your order? 😉

it's great she let people know that this hotel did not live up to standards. It's called doing a "review". 😆

we should support Indian travelers and Indians in general in other countries, not be looking to trash them because they are leading lives most people can only dream of. As it turns out, it's only Indians- ABCD's or others- who trash their own. Sad.😉

Shahid and Meera are sat sangis. They don't need free hotel stays. It's a pretty sick thing to even be suggesting that. 😉

And what are some people so het up about? That they are vegans? It's actually a pretty healthy dietary choice... and better for the environment too than the meat shit that needs a lot of water and pollutants to feed. You'd live longer too without all that meat crap clogging your arteries. Try it.😆

We are both assuming then. You would think she would not have mentioned the hotels messed up her order despite telling them beforehand (before booking) if that was the case?

In her later story she thanked the hotel for understanding her point of view regarding the food and that she will stay their again. As she later retracted her bad review I figured she did not give a bad reciew in the end. So not wrong to assume she got a free stay in return to retract the bad review. Even rich people love their freebies especially BW celebs.

Why do you assume I'm hating on Vegans and vegetarians. I'm just sharing what I have seen vegans friends do.They do their research before they book hotels, research restaurants nearby to see if they can find vegan places. It is difficult for sure but they manage it somehow.

Right on!👍🏼 so by definition it should not be hard to make your own or arrange for it, for sure I would never leave it up to a hotel to figure out ...I speak from experience as my personal restrictions are very unique so I get by on very little and I am good with it, however I have and do prepare for others, a jar of peanut butter (stuff is vile), almond butter and ketchup-packets have saved me plenty of headaches...all over this planet. Basically what I am saying is the world does not have to cater to any individual who is a passerby in their country because the universe already does take care of things. Peace.

If they don't serve vegan, they should/ will just tell us. They should not take our money and then not deliver.

by the way, for a bunch that's always whining about everyone and everything, it's rich that folks are criticizing them. You'd think that no one has ever had trouble with hotel reservations or restaurant food or some other order😆

ps- with so many members all lined up on the other side, am looking forward to providing a different perspective. Will make for a nice "exchange of views"😉😆

When making airline reservations the airlines tells you what their options are, vegetarian or non-vegetarian etc, and you pick one. If your desired meal is not on their options list you are SOL, for lack of a better terminology here. I don’t think the hotel had the option of a Vegan meal, otherwise Mira wouldn’t have raised a stink like this. And for her to demand a meal that is not being offered by an establishment is just obnoxious and entitled.

Maybe she’s a Vegan who eats cheese, I don't know. In another post she claims to be a vegetarian but I’m not sure what the order of these posts are with relation to when she got some backlash. The article also mentions people questioning her eating cheese while claiming to be Vegan.
