I agree that Yami is no peasant. None of the bollywood actors are. She was also very mean and unprofessional with my favorite Bollywood actress, Urvashi, during a promotional interview for Sanam Re. That wasn't kind AT ALL.

I still can’t tell if this is legit or you are just playing around.

You were pretty adamant at one point that fans of insiders stars have been gaslit into it. 🤣

Why the 180 😂

I have valid points for both sides. Don't think I'm at a point where I am fully convinced about whatever I espoused up there but I know that's what I'm "supposed" to believe, as per the other side. It's work in progress. 😵 Most of my opinions aren't fixed forever anyways.

In Yami's defense, she has every right to tweet her dissatisfaction too. Does she not? Perhaps she was promised something but they didn't do as they promised when they released their list, and she can't outright say that, so she left a quick, casual tweet instead? Given she hasn't ever said anything "whiny" on social media before, I think she deserves that benefit of doubt, that something legit upset her. She is no Kangna, so it's not fair to pile on her over one comment that didn't take names or demean anyone.

Also, hey, her tweet got noticed -- can it not be a PR move? Any attention is good attention if you're lagging behind. I didn't even know she had a movie out, but now I DO! and might even watch it. People are so quick to jump down her throat just for a tweet that revealed something about her disappointment with something, they ended up looking like snowflakes who can't hear a single thing against the "establishment" instead. She owns her story and experiences as someone "less" blessed than some others and it's her prerogative how she chooses to share it. If she wants to blow off some steam every now and then, she has every right to. That's all.

About fans of insiders being "gaslit" into liking them, I never said they were gaslit. I have always said that their PR is unbelievable and sneaks on people without them ever knowing what hit them. Before you know it, they're a household name ..... without really doing much. Much like the Kardashians who are rich just for being rich to begin with... popularity is a mystery. But people are free to like whoever they want, I don't really care as long as they don't impose their opinions on me.

I don’t quite see the argument of “fair and unfair” when it comes to selecting actors for a role

U do notice that an audition is not like an exam wherein U have definitive answers and skills u prove and based on ur percentage ur hired …

An audition can be subjective ….people get “liked” in an audition based on how charming they are, their screen presence , them having a good voice , their good looks, them having good expressions , them suiting the role yada yada …all of these are subjective …one person might love an audition and another might hate it …the hiring of an actor onto a project itself is a highly subjective “liking” based system (favouritism) :…it’s dependent on whether the actor has managed to make the producer/ director / casting director “like” them…not based on whether they passed exams, can assemble a code base, can solve an equation etc….

Which is why success in the is field is largely based on luck, being at the right place at the right time, knowing the right people and managing to persuade them…you can’t drive metrics into this and impose requirements here because it’s not a math or a science test where skill is measured on knowledge/ application of knowledge to meet definitive benchmarks

Acting is subjective ..

Well, there's this insignificant thing called similie. Want it's definition? Also, an outsider getting ignored in favour of many other 'privileged' people is called 'injustice'.

Want me to post the definition of injustice here?

By all means... quote away all you like, admittedly I really do not need definitions of words if you spell them semi-correctly, you have, minus the favour & simile (but that's just me), neither do I think them insignificant; no word is. In fact in the long run I rather enjoy the enthusiastic deployment of simile and metaphors because it reinforces communication. So quote on...please.

Now...Justice itself is tricky because justice depends on entitlement (who owes what to whom), while charity depends on the absence of entitlement. Since Yami is paid for her work, it is not charity and no one is forcing her into slave labor so her gripe seems to be she lacks acknowledgement from a "section" or group of people. I simply suggested that she, figures out what it takes to get what she lacks to be satisfied or simply accept that things are how they are and that card carrying members of the self professed victim club, when they whine usually get...well just charity or they are ignored when their cries are exaggerated and not real.

So then would you qualify Alia and Deepika and even Madhuri privileged? Cause this blogger mentioned them all and then brought Yami in. Yami was Ignored for all of them and then the person remembered her.

So in this case either all are privileged or none are 🤷‍♂️

Why is everything insider, outsider thing?

Deepika and Madhuri are outsiders who made it big. 2 out of 3 women originally on that list are outsiders!

This is about Yami wanting something positive for herself. Through bad luck or her inability to do adequate PR, she's not getting acknowledged.

What's all this about Yami not having media at her fingertips? So DP and Mads did when they started out? Yami needs better luck or to learn how to network. Don't sit on your backside and expect people to come to you. Not a single sector works like that. Medicine, engineering, law, teaching, politics... none of it.

She's not crying victim nor a 'card carrying member of victim club'. She just stated that certain publications are known to kiss the asses of certain people. And that is a fact. No amount of crying can change cold, hard, facts.

It was dishonest and discriminatory to exclude Yami from the list of hit-making heroines. She said that upfront.
