ya so my point is why do ppl always bring up that she was privileged? Even ash, madhuri, pc and anushka were privileged. Geez pc and anoushka came from defence background. Thats a pretty privileged upbringing if you ask me. Very few ppl in BW are genuinely poor. Even yami isnt poor. Yes a few ppl get more attention than others but that doesnt mean they are deliberately being discriminated against.

Yami does have a point. Media coverage of A Thursday is extremely low. But the thing is the movie marketing team did not promote the film. I didn't even know such a movie was in the making until it released. Even after the release it didn't create much stir. She is a good actress but not a very popular one. All 3 of the actresses this media channels' tweet mentioned are very popular & their movies/shows created a lot of buzz. To get media recognition these days just being a good actress isn't enough. You have to be popular too. She seems to understand that & is telling the same. She is not whining or complaining, just stating a fact.

It wasn't very dignified because it came across as entitlement to me, without putting in the work to win over that side she's complaining about. Are they gonna do her favors next time? Probably not. Whatever possibility there was of them ever doing her any good, is now zilch.

"They" owe her nothing even if she might act like Meryl Streep herself. There are countless other actors and performers who haven't even seen the light of day.... who keep on keeping on to get the much needed visibility and finally monetize their skills. What is she complaining about? She's beautiful, talented and has worked with A-listers.

Why does she think the media houses that are most likely in the back pockets of a few (birthright, yo!) should include her in the list of top fives and top tens they spit out anyway? What's in it for them? She doesn't have the influential backing of the Bhatt Camp or the Kapoor Family or Kjo, so no one is gonna kowtow to her based on how "talented" she is onscreen, esp. if she hasn't bothered to schmooze around to win them over, now are they?! There is no such thing as a "fair" list. Either you impressed the right people or you didn't.

She should be nice and keep hustling instead. No one likes embittered raisins who won't shut up about how they should, could, would have been wine, had they been deal a better hand in life. Especially if their life is like Yami's--sweeter than 99% of the people in the world.😗

Yami should dump glow and lovely as a brand ambassador. Anyone who associates with this brand commits career suicide. Glow and lovely is one the reason why Indians are obsessed with fairness and discrimination towards dark skin. I will acknowledge her once she leaves Glow and Lovely.

By now, Yami is no peasant in a hut nor is she fighting for the same things they are. I really resent you mixing the two, because you demean the plight of many who struggle to survive, when you lump them into a frivolous whining from someone who gets paid in crores you victimize them further, that is shameful.
2. Sharpening her Talent, hard work and good PR/networking is what Yami needs now, not joining a victim cards club....believe me my advice to her does come from a place of experience and my advice is very expensive.
3. Next time consider leaving minor children out of comments, they are innocent and are not at fault for their birth position in life they need to be cared for by everyone. Did you not see Yami's movie?

That's the thing though .... "biased treatment" doesn't exist. Favoritism is the way the world works. If someone comes from a bollywood family and has bewitched the most influential person to do their bidding everywhere, they did something right.

For example, Kartik Aryan is doing pretty well for himself even though I see nothing special in him. Why? He made the right calls to get ahead in the game. Is anyone gonna rally up for Harshvardhan Kapoor not getting the same opportunities as Kartik? Any takers? No? 😒

Even at workplaces, people hire those they "trust"... relatives, friends and references always take precedence over people they don't know personally. If it's someone you don't know personally, they better have something outstanding to show. Otherwise, how can a stranger win your trust? Even with all the talent in the world, there is always an equally likely chance of them getting rejected for someone else. That's life ..... and it's up to you live it, and put out all the stops to make sure you get your best share of it.

You might be a damn good actor but no one is going to hand out kudos to you or list your name up there if you aren't keeping up with others. When was the last time Yami made headlines .... except when she got married? and that was still pretty low key. She needs to change her game plan.
