I'm surprised no one is talking about how badly the trailer has been made? I mean yeah everyone knows that this film doesn't even need a trailer, people will anyways watch it for the emotional connect but still thoda toh effort dal dete to make it fun and exciting! Dull and disjointed as hell.

Because it's not dull or disjointed😆.

if anything, it gives a little too much away but nicely manages to infuse the tropes guaranteed to pull in the Indian audience.

@LegolasGondolin Thanks for sharing. I think looking at this, feel like it’s not the wig problem but more like it didn’t suit Deepika. Could have gotten another actress to play her role then. Sorry couldn’t quote you.

It's a good trailer, but if it wasn't on a real story and a real moment then it would feel like one of those sports or dance movies that has the usual underdogs winning everyone's heart and the game by the end.

Yeah. True. But that template was true for 1983 win, I have heard my dad his friends and my uncles talk about this WC win and the game at length. When we watch the interviews of the WC winning team, they say the same too.

Yup and they also love to hype certain actors.

RS and DP are a threat to their fav stars and hence the hate.

Kabir wanted DP I believe . Qupting Kabir " The film''s director Kabir Khan shared: "I have always thought of Deepika as a phenomenal actress and when I was thinking of casting for Romi Dev''s role, I could only think of her. Romi has a disarmingly charming and positive energy and Deepika has captured that with perfection."

I feel Kabir was right, DP had a luminous presence and she did what was expected.

Also when DP heard the story she agreed to do the part even if its just a cameo because she could relate to the role well because of her mom. Her mum was the pillar of support for her dad Prakash Padukone and took care of the family while he was away playing.

Quoting Deepika "I''ve seen very closely the role a wife plays in the success of her husband''s professional and personal aspirations in my mother and ''83'' for me in many ways is an ode to every woman who puts her husband''s dream before her own,"

Yes definitely. Sometimes even in real life underdogs win. And I'm glad. Because it looks like it was a big moment for India. Even my uncles talk about that moment a lot. And I just showed the trailer to my parents and they were very happy.

Very underwhelming trailer. Expected much better from Kabir Khan.

And why they show West Indies players like mean girls walking? I mean they are the most chilled out player.
