Completely agree. Not at all impressive but for Indians that world cup was an emotion so movie will be a major hit but it could have been done so much better. The actors are all overacting. Special thumbs down to the lazy script writer who took Srikanth's recent year interview words and used it verbatim as if he said all that to the team then. How are you privy of what was said behind the scenes at that time post match or now to the director by those players? Srikkanth literally said this was what he said after the match that he thought his captain had become pagal to think that they could win the cup. Some of the dialogs have to be taken verbatim because that was probably what was shared to the director by the actual players?

All I hope for is the feel to come through. I hope they don’t make the West Indies team into villains. And also the overdose of nationalism yet again which is becoming a staple in the movies these days, I hope it was toned down in the actual movie. And I hope they focus only on the players and their struggle both as a team as well as the individuals playing for an underdog team.I hope there was no focus on the love story of Kapil and his wife. I am sure there will be more focus on Ranveer because he is after all playing Kapil Dev and he literally played the captain’s knock through out the worldcup and lead his team from the font, but I also hope there will be enough focus on the other players as well. *fingers crossed*

Will watch for Ammy and Hardy.

Yep , had they written other dialogues, people wouldve said this is what Srikanth said in his interviews why was that not included and why did they have to change the dialogues 😆

Great trailer. Maybe I couldn’t connect that much since I am not a cricket fan or from India. I was also not born back then too. Despite that I liked the trailer a lot. I don’t know about Deepika but Ranveer and Jiiva stood out for me in the trailer. Looking forward to see the whole film. Ranveer is an exceptional actor. I wonder how he moulds himself into a character that easily. You can’t see a Khilji or Bajirao in Kapil in this film. That’s Ranveer’s biggest strength. Definitely the best actor of this generation alongside Shahid Kapoor. The bad side of this is Deepika’s wig. But that can’t be helped since I heard Kapil’s wife spotted that hair. Jiiva was another highlight for me. As a South Indian, seeing Jiiva feels very personal! Hope this opens new doors for him❤️

Yup agree on the nationalism part, that needs to be toned down, hoping Kabir knows what he is doing.

About the WI team, they were indeed arrogant as they were super successful and at the top of their game and India did face a lot of discrimination and were looked down upon by the world. That is a true fact although it is a commonly used cliche in sports based films.

Best way to tell a trailer has worked.
