My entire family is an avid cricket follower, my Nani even watches and keeps track of what's happening in IPL(even though she calls it farzi cricket😆) . No way are we gonna miss it. Ab mimicry ho ya nostalgia as long as it spreads joy I don't mind. After all EOD movies are for our entertainment, haina?

Kapil Dev still speaks same way as he did earlier.

He has a typical voice and body language. Even his Hindi is spoken in a typical manner. That's just how Kapil paaji speaks.

Can't compare him to today's media and PR savvy lot like Kohli who change their style or image with time. Kapil Dev even has same hair cut he had earlier.

Having said that Ranveer has another hit on his plate given the subject.

He is playing only 1983 period Kapil Dev and has to get that accent, look, body language consistently correct throughout the film. No one is going to compare him to evolution of Kapil Dev pre or post 1983.

I guess Ranveer knows weight of expectations and personality of Kapil Dev so he must have worked hard accordingly.

The film would have done commercially great in theatres and is a true blue big screen material film. Only Omicron scare may keep people away. Otherwise this is a film best watched on big screen. Ranveer has a winner on his hands and more heartburn for his haters.
