Is Abhishek the reason why people hate star kids? - Page 2

No, because though his career is actually a good example of the issues with nepotism (as many here pointed out), he doesn't come across as rude/entitled the way many other star kids do- in fact he seems like a nice, humble person (maybe a little low confidence if anything come to think of it), which gives little reason to dislike him overall tbh.

Also (maybe it's because I was too young to be properly into this stuff when he was a newcomer?) but I don't remember Abhishek ever being constantly obsessed over and hailed as the most handsome, best actor ever, etc. by the media. Like yes he was/is average looking and an average actor, but (as far as I remember) we didn't/don't have the media trying 24/7 to convince us otherwise, like with many mediocre, or straight up terrible star kids in this current generation 😆

In 2004- 07 he was being hailed as sexiest guy, most desirable bachelor and even compared to Amitabh claiming he will succeed like his dad did after 10 flops before he hit it big. He was given UP government's highest youth award called Yash Bharti Sammaan which he did not deserve and everyone felt he got it due to Jaya being an MP from ruling Samajwadi party.

Abhishek has gotten undeserved number of chances, awards and reviews that go easy on him.

Guru was called his 'Zanjeer moment'. It is another matter he never gave any solo hit after Zanjeer nor succeeded as a main lead hero at BO.

I think I started seeing hate for aliaa ever since she bagged the slb film, rajamouli film, started dating ranbir …

Until raazi ppl were still fine when her …then all the above “Wishlist” that was granted to her on a platter appears to have aggravated ppl

That’s when the discussion started of how easy she has it compared to others and how kjo serves everything for her on a platter …

Then ofcourse the sushanth incident happened which just blew the hate for nepo kids into another level

Star kids are hated because mediocre people like Ranbir, Alia, Varun etc get everything on platter and literally shoved into our throats. They are immuned to failures. Whereas some talented people don't get enough chances.

Regarding Abhishek, he is never hated,just trolled and he is not even half egoistic like Ranbir or that mediocre Alia. He has a likeable personality. Hate is a strong word. Even people don't hate any star kids. Just frustrated with all mediocrity bollywood is churning out.

Saw a small movie CODA. I was blown away by a 19 year old Emilia Jones. And the movie itself is amazing. Alia and other nepo products can only dream of that kind of performance.

So don't generalize dislike as hate. People pay their hard earned money to get entertained not to fill the pockets of some untalented bunches.

Abhishek is one of the nepo kids who is not hated. Trolled for his failures, sure. But not disliked.

He comes across as a grounded person. Frankly, many times he comes across as the only likeable person in that entire family.

My observation only:

Disliked nepo kids - Ranbir (mostly due to his parents), Alia (due to herself and KJo), Sonam (due to herself), Sara (due to herself and daddy), Ananya (due to herself), Varun (due to himself)

Trolled but not disliked nepo kids - Abhishek, Uday, Tiger, Arjun

Nepo kids who are rarely trolled and not really disliked - Shraddha, Hrithik

Common thread seems to be arrogance/entitlement or lack thereof.

I only dislike his not keeping up with trends and working hard to win over audience. He has never worked to develop a strong physique. He would joke about having a family pack when even older stars like Khans had 8 pack abs. He has never tried to change his acting style, hair style or looks or done subjects relevant to audience of that era. He rejected Lagaan, RDB, DCH, 3 Idiots. I wonder about his script sense. Hw was ready to do supporting roles in KANK or HNY but not RDB, DCH, 3I?

He has no one except himself to blame for his failures. He got too many chances, awards, hype and international appearances all thanks to his parents and wife.

In real life he is respectable for not having criminal record and not hitting media persons or fans or making hate speech or posting conspiracy theories to win favours from political parties. He has not taken to drugs or harmful behaviours, which is a good thing.

He also supports himself with various busines ventures from what I can see and doesn't live off his family. Seems like a decent human, husband, and father. As a regular person, what more can you ask of someone?

With re: acting career. Clearly, he wasn't invested enough to put in the effort required.

But his basic decency comes through, so few people hate him.

People started hating star kids when social media gave everybody an equal voice and platform and lay people started commenting on how star kids unfairly get big breaks and multiple chances. I don't think one star kid specifically incited it. It just built up.
