Raju Hirani made him a star. He even broke records with Sanju with someone like Ranbir. 3I and PK go out of the window. Before that, I don't think anybody even cared about him. Even now, not many care about him. But still I agree with you he is a star. He doesn't have any aura of a even superstar like Hrithik Roshan, forget megastars like SRK and Salman Khan.

Dhoom 3 is about the franchise. Someone else would have made it a much bigger hit.

Ghajini is a south remake. LOL Salman does it better.

Dangal again, he hardly has any role. It was all about the girls and wrestling.

Anyways, he is nowhere near SRK's DDLJ and Salman Khan's HAHK.

He is star like Ranbir with some aura who can act well and give hits with Raju Hirani or something which is very good in script. He knows he is nothing without a good story. Even with script, he is just a star.

He is not even comparable with Hrithik. He is a superstar. Forget megastars like Salman and SRK.

Raju Hirani never crossed 100 crore before he worked with Aamir. So much for claiming Hirani made Aamir a star when Aamir already had ATBB Raja Hindustani in 90s, Oscar nominated hit Lagaan, biggest openers like Fanaa and 100 crore blockbuster Ghajini before he did 3 Idiots. Rather no one was working with Hirani earlier and they kepr rejecting his films. Only Sanjay Dutt worked with him that also due to his friendship with VVC.

Hirani was a nobody and working in ad agencies when Aamir already went to Oscars with Lagaan.

Anyway Aamir's own home production Dangal is even bigger grosser than 3 Idiots. 😁

The others being called bigger stars never crossed even records of Dangal.

So sad. Real life is different from fantasies of posts online.

Akshay, Shahid also did South remakes but never broke records of Ghajini. South remakes are no guarantee of hit. Salman also did South remake Wanted in 2009 but it did not break record of Ghajini then. 'Leagues ahead' star took time to break record of Ghajini until Aamir set bigger records with his next releases.

God knows how much time 'leagues ahead' stars will take to beat atleast Dangal.

The excitement and fenzy that megastars SRK, Salman movies create and superstar Hrithik movies create is unparalleled since years now.

Aamir is a part of some good movies. Not much of a driving force of their success. A star for sure though.

Yeah we have seen the great frenzy for these stars in last decade and a half and how much of a driving force they are in success or failure of their films. 😁🤣

Aamir said in an interview Dangal made him.a megastar in China. He then promoted Thugs of Hindostan all over China. But the earth slipped beneath his feet. He thought his megastardom in China will again create records in China.

In 90s Aamir was not even in the league of Sunil Shetty. Not even a star.

In 2000s he had four movies with some good script. Unfortunately no credit should be given to directors. Did he even direct Taare Zameen Par or stole the credit there as well? Finally became a star because of Raju Hirani, who resurrected Sanjay Dutt.
