Bollywood generally is slapstick sort of place so not a lot of variety. What type of comedy do you like? What were some comic roles you really laughed at?!

Comedy scenes I really remembering laughing at

Welcome- Nana Patekar's scenes with the line "Subah se na aloo bikah hai, nahi bikah hai ek kanda". I love how they all act like what an amazing deep line it is 😆

Welcome- When Mallika's character describes Anil Kapoor's painting, how she sees love in the horse+donkey painting.

Akshay is action replay was hilarious to me! He plays the loser role so well.

Many Juhi and SRK scenes in one2ka4. Where juhi says nafrat is the first step to love. Also the scene when SRK falls on top of Juhi and she just keeps going on and on about how she is going to be pregnant.

The thing I laugh at most though is the unintentional comedy in Bollywood. Which is almost all Salman movies. Race 3 is a gem. Radhe is close to being a gem. That Kiara movie with Abbas Mustan's nephew is also a gem.

I laugh very easily at almost everything and anything. So my list is way too long but specific comedy movies would be: l

  • Hera Pheri
  • Munna Bhai MBBS
  • Andaz Apna Apna
  • Masti
  • Chup Chup Ke
  • Hulchul
  • 3 Idiots
  • Bhool Bhulaiya
  • Ishq
  • Housefull

Any movie that basically has Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav is an instant trigger for me. I have too many favourite scenes, I can’t even think of any specific one that stood out. But here’s a few clips I rewatch often.

Andaaz Apna Apna, Ishq, and Golmaal series were hilarious in a slapstick way. Andaaz Apna Apna is still legendary with its comedy and characters. Golmaal series went downhill with each sequel.

Hera Pheri was a sharp situational comedy. It was propped up on good characters, great dialogues, and how the characters faced various situations.

Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani is a great social satire, but is way ahead of its time.

Delhi Belly and Go Goa Gone are both excellent slacker comedies

But some of my favorite comedy films of all time are

1. My Cousin Vinny - Joe Pesci is great, but Marisa Tomei is pure comedic gold. I enjoyed it a lot as a kid in India, but after living in the states the Yankee in Confederate territory narrative takes it up another notch.

2. Arsenic and Old Lace - After so many decades, this still remains one of the finest black comedies ever written. Part of what makes it so great is the unexpected dark twists from the most unassuming characters.

3. Singing in the Rain - they did meta before meta was a thing. It's a movie about making movies and is loads of fun.

4. Mean Girls - It is the best teenage movie ever made. But it is so much more than that. The sharp social observations, the memorable dialogue, all make this a modern classic.

5. Saved! - Many people don't know about this indie gem. But it's the best satire on religion. Its brutal in its examination of conservative evangelical Christianity in America.

I don't have a specific type but I still absolutely love the Priyadarshan movies during the mid 2000s. All of them have repeat value and I can watch them any number of times without getting bored. I especially loved Akshay in them. Now he has gotten super boring. Sadly BW has stopped making good comedy movies, all we get is trash these days

It had all the elements to be an ATBB...

- Biopic

- Amma's Biopic

- Vijayendra Prasad of Bahubali Series and Bajrangi Bhaijaan

- Four south industries to prop

I think the film would've done well if The Second Wave hadn't killed too many people. People's desire to watch films in theaters is 0 now.
