The trend is made by the viewing public, not the other way around. Because if any of these women gain five pounds the public will critique them to death, I have even read people call Sonakshy a "water buffalo" due to her humongous size, yet when you see her in person she is even thinner than most average girls. In India the public can be brutal and fat/age/looks shaming is very real. Since they are all looking to be marketable and their career depends on looks you cannot blame them for trying to stay thin. India seems to have expiration dates stamped on people and appearance rules, so shelf life expiration comes fast as if at 35 and 120 pounds they need to start looking fir a wheel chair and a retirement home......

Yeah, even her skin doesn't glow because she seems unhealthy.

Exactly.👏smiley32smiley32smiley32smiley32smiley32smiley32smiley32

People in India (or in general) love to fat-shame/body-shame other people, especially women.

E.g. See what Vidya Balan went through, despite being a terrific actress.

This is the only thread where actresses are being shamed for not being.... chubby enough?😆

I think as long as one is comfortable in their body shape and size, it doesn't matter whether they are size 0, stickily thin, chubby or a little 'fat' as per body standards.
Obviously, one should always aim for a healthy body. But People come in all shapes and sizes. It's ridiculous to pit them against each other as per their sizes.

Calling Ananya/Tara 'malnourished' is as problematic as calling Vidya/Sonakshi 'water buffaloes'.
