QSQT started trend of romantic movies.MPK,Saajan,Phool Aur Kaante followed.Romantic movies with young 20 year old newcomers followed. After Aamir-Juhi, Salman-Bhagyashree and Ajay-Madhoo came.Though some of them have made their appearance before (Aamir in Holi,Juhi in 1 or 2 movies , Salman in Biwi Ho To Aisi) but they were still relatively new.
It also started the trend of innocent, boy next door, romantic male protagonists. This was diametrically opposite to the angry action protagonists that dominated the 80's.
It revitalized the music scene, paving the way for other young composers and singers to enter the industry.
The protagonists in Saiyaara are all seen in almost the last few years itself. It might bring back the trend of young new actors as romantic leads and original songs.
In some ways 2020s are a reminiscent of the 80s. A lot of audience had withdrawn from Bollywood in the 80s, and BW was relying heavily on action and South Remakes. Except Amitabh, most of the reigning superstars were struggling.
So, we might be looking at the beginning of a paradigm shift right now.
I really hope we bring the focus to some young promising stars. It's difficult to pinpoint who will be the next big thing among male stars.
But among girls, I see potential in Rasha (Raveena's daughter) and Nimanshi (from Laapata Ladies). They are too young right now, but they will hit the right age in 2030s.
