I mean, I'm sure Nupur has equal part in saying YES to this project as much as Akshay. She is legally an adult too.

Nupur and Akshay look hideous together but I'm sure she was thrilled to do the video with him. Kriti must have pulled a lot of strings to make it happen. Apart from the online wokes as I call them, nobody cares and that's the honest truth. Their first Filhaal video had a BILLION views. Obviously there are people out there who don't mind at all. And producers will do whatever sells. The world isn't built on altruism.

The girls want a hit/make it big too, or else they can say no to working with older guys. Like Shraddha.

Why not stop watching these movies where there is a big age gap? Thats the only way a viewer can do something about it. Make the movie a flop. Like Thug o Hindustan.

Stop watching Nepo kids, stop watching age gap movies..😆 Doubt we will watch any movies at all.

You keep saying things should change. How? It seems like you want other people to sink money on these older actresses even though you yourself say there are no takers for these films. Why will anyone waste their money to sustain someone else's career? The older male actors produce almost all their films. They take their own risks and if/when a movie flops, they pay back distributors too. Will an actress do any of that? The answer is no. They walk away from flops without any worries or any responsibility.

Just cribbing without any solutions does nothing.

The only real solution is for the older actresses themselves to be proactive and produce their own films and take the same risks and responsibility that the male actors do. Nowadays there are so many options like streaming also where the risk is considerably reduced. So the women should make their own films instead of this constant victimization about the cruel world that won't spend money on them. The actresses themselves are happy chilling instead of working to change things. They themselves don't care as much as random people do.

I’m sorry, are you calling me a random person?

Also, how do you know all these actresses are happy chilling and don’t care ? You always state things with great certainty, like you know exactly what all the actors are doing and thinking in their everyday lives😄 We know no such thing, since we don’t know them personally. Unless you have some secret access to the inner workings of their minds.

My concern is about this pairing of aging male actors with younger and younger women. It is concerning because it shows that there is no space for an aging actress, no roles for her because she has lost her youthful charm and doesn’t fulfil conventional ‘heroine’ requirements. It’s concerning because it reinforces once again that men have the upper hand and can get away with looking and acting like crap, but still have audiences flocking to see them dance with women young enough to be their daughters. It’s reflective of a disturbing societal mindset and that, to me, is both worrying and pathetic.

Is it really that difficult to figure out? These women are millionaires with a long list of connections to other powerful people. If they were truly concerned about not getting roles, they could do something about it! Make their own movie for god's sake but they don't. So you can deduce very clearly that they do not care and are happier chilling and doing nothing.

You want change? There has to be people willing to make that change happen. You put the responsibility on other people like the male stars or producers/directors instead of the women themselves which is plain ridiculous. Nobody owes them anything. Nobody wastes their own money out of the goodness of their heart for other people. They aren't running a charity nor do female millionaires need that charity. Do they want the industry to change? Then they have to be the change themselves. Looking at privileged rich women as victims is unnecessary and unproductive.

Honestly who cares. They are actors at the end of the day. Its prevalent in all industries but in India, they have a closeted mindset and don't pair older women and younger men. Societal norms.

No one said that they are victims. Also you seem to grudge these ‘rich privileged’ women their money, when they are probably worth a fraction of what their male counterparts are worth 😆

The change can begin with the male actors. How about these 50 year old men stop acting with women who are 30 years younger than them? They have the power to put an end to this trend. But no, they want to hang on to their long-lost youth by romancing 20 year olds. Nice little boost to their egos.

How about these men seek out scripts that can feature a woman opposite them of the same age ? A mature love story perhaps ? (Since we seem incapable of making films that don’t have a love angle ). Or a thriller / family dynamics based film without the mandatory love angle and dances? These men have massive fan bases. Surely their star power has to count for something; surely it’s enough to get their fan bases to watch them in a ‘different’ role? And by different I mean age appropriate 😆

It’s not their job or their responsibility to do so, of course. But it would be a step in the right direction and one that could help change the way our society thinks. If these men who have such insane fan following can’t make a difference, I wonder who can.

Again you put zero responsibility on the women themselves which is just hilarious to me. Everyone else has to go out of their way to do charity for these older actresses.

"The change can begin with the male actors." Why? You acknowledged yourself that it's not their job or their responsibility so why will they? It's a business after all and they do what's best for themselves. If they see no commercial viability in an older actress, they of course won't give them the job. Not only that, the younger actresses are paid less too so it's even more beneficial.

I don't begrudge the actresses whatever money they make. They earn based on what they bring to the table. They do not have the star power of the bigger male stars so of course they only make a fraction of what they make. You seem to have a problem with that too or else it's not something that needed to be brought up. When some distributors lost money with Dilwale, SRK paid them back the money out of his own pocket. Would Kajol ever do the same? Of course not. With greater risk comes greater rewards. You can't have it both ways where everyone just keeps on bending over backwards for the actresses. Not only do they have to be given roles, they have to be paid the same and then if/when a movie flops, it's only the male star that has to take responsibility and pay distributors. Sorry but the world doesn't work that way.

If women want better roles and more money, they have to make it happen for themselves. They are not victims of cruelty that everyone has to go out of their way to cater to them at their own expense. There's a reason why Vidya seems to be marching on with good movies in her 40s whereas women like Aishwarya and Madhuri are not getting far. If Sridevi was still alive, she would have shown how it's done and it wouldn't require charity from male stars.

Other way around is not.

exactly....charity karni hogi to orphanage mein karenge...women's education ke liye karenge...why would I do charity for someone like Kriti Sanon...who is learning lakhs or probably crores by acting against grand papas and doing Ads?? Why are these women not saying NO to acting with Grand Pas....why do I have to stand up for these highly educated and rich women???
