Bad performance or cringeworthy performance aside, Kartik has organically earned this film because of his past hits. So he's not been handed this film on a platter. Obviously, he will get trolled less.

On another note, comparing Kartik to Ranbir is fallacious. Talent being the key factor setting them apart.

Why not compare Kartik to Arjun Kapoor? Both are almost equally bad, but the one who got the film because of his last name will get trolled more than the one who got it because of his own credibility. And credibility here does not refer to acting skills, but building connection with audience.

Kartik and Ayushmann both have worked hard to reach where they are. That cannot be denied.

From the young generations you have overreacting actors who goes over the top with cringe than you have none actors who has no expressions than you have bad acting like this one. Sushant and ayushmann are at least a natural performer from the young generation. It’s not about outsider or insiders, star kids have shown their weakness just like outsiders too. They need to bring great actors back

The internet considers great actors from the young generation is one guy who does the same role and same expressions all the time and the other guy who overacts. Kartik did horrible acting here but so are the so called great actors of this young generation

Bollywood has such mediocre actors.Not even one good actor in new gen.

I know a lot of people keep mentioning Arjun kapoor as bad but I think Arjun is better than other overhyped star kids. I watched Arjun in 3 romantic movies and he did good. He seems lazy to work on his looks and acting though. Kartik is good in comedy movies but in this clip it exposes what a bad actor he is. But kartik is just as bad of an actor as the other overhyped young actors for their acting.
