No, hate to break it to you, but it's so freaking false! đ€Ș
His performance wasn't up to par in that trailer, especially the opening scene, but he earned the movie with a consistent body of work... much like building blocks that helped him earn credibility for him as an actor. He didn't plop himself in this movie after bombing the last one or a series of flops. Neither did he do this movie just because his daddy still wants his name up there.
All that sucking up and groveling to the point where it was starting to make me nauseous during that Coffee episode must have also paid off.
He should have spent more time with that opening scene but he didn't and now he's gonna pay a heavy price for it but.......
By NO means are movies handouts for outsiders like they usually are for most of the nepo kids and therein lies the difference. And the role in this movie certainly was not tailor made role him just to prop him up in people's eyes either. There's a difference, a massive difference... you just have to be willing to see it.
It is true Karthik Aryan earned the movie by virtue of his success with other movies. It wasn't handed to him like things were done for nepo kids. That's for sure.
However, he will still be - and should be - trolled for that elementary school level performance.
He should be trolled like Katrina Kaif was. Because she, too, earned her movies. Same for Deepika. Karthik, too, saw massive success despite his lack of talent. Which is how he got Dhamaka.
Not quite the same as someone like Ananya Pandey or Arjun Kapoor. They keep getting handed movies despite flops.

Except that I wish they keep it to constructive criticism and not resort to below the belt insults- nepo or not, deserving or not! It shows so badly overall when 90% of the comments are insults and useless comments. What are the actors supposed to take from it? They will simply ignore and move on!
