Indian audiences love men being portrayed dominant over a woman in movies.

People love such characters in India. These are the same thinking people who made Kabir Singh a hit, even girls are responsible for it. I have seen majority women in my life wanting characters like Kabir Singh as their lover!

Let me tell natural instinct of a man dominance over a woman will never stop. By nature, even a woman wants their man to be protective and be dominant. Its a different aspect in current era we are talking about respecting women. I agree and it should happen. But the biological aspect of a man being a provider will never go.

Before bashing me maturely think what I have written.

I will never ever get over how people were okay this gross "love story". This is one of the worst scenes from the movie that still baffles me. He LITERALLY yells at her and says if he wanted he could've done anything to her in 5 days 🤢 wah 👏credit should be given for you being only a level 8 scum and not a level 10 piece of $*it. He also justifies how he didn't do all this to give her dhoka, "main sirf tumhe pane ke liye"🤢

I will never understand what differentiated most Bollywood romantic heroes from the chichora, sleazy, tharki villains in movies. Without the difference in BG music, and sometimes the actual rape attempts they often behaved the same.

Oh also be sure to check out the creepy comments underneath the video. This is many people's idea of true, deep romance. So I refuse to believe it hit with the audience just because it had good music. Plenty of flop movies have great music. It was popular with much of the audience because they didn't mind crap like this and still don't

There is Something evolutionary about wanting to be with alpha personalities . Look at Veronica and Archie too , a mean , vain and un compassionate person is courted by every boy in riverdale .

Women might want kabir Singh to be a lover but not a husband . Unfortunately, Indian film makers muddy waters when it come to being attracted sexually to being in love .

You get something out of alphas otherwise no one wants them . You must understand Kabir Singh is also very rich , intelligent and attractive and a remarkable doctor... no preeti will give a second look with all these qualities if Kabir was even middle class let alone ju at a road side romeo.

Sorry, I haven't read your post but perhaps you may be thinking how a film which tells the story of a guy faking his identity to lure a girl into love garner so much adulation. Honestly, the journey was incredibly endearing for me. I loved Madhavan and Dia's chemistry. They were adorable. Plus, the song Sach Keh Raha Hai Deewana and Zara Zara were a rage.

There's some inexplicable magic right there. I can't put a word to it.

This . The attraction is evident on screen . It transports you and wonder ... People and esp young people want to experience that mutual attraction, it’s the desire of the young .

RHTDM has a certain charm...which is still there after so many years. Its fantastic songs and actors chemistry did wonders for the movie.

It has nothing to do with obsession of alpha males. The love story was told in such a way that it created magic on screen. I can never get tired of watching it repeatedly.

Dia and Madhavan's chemistry was extraordinary in the movie.

In that sense, the enduring magic of RHTDM rests on the fact that its music has at some point been instrumental in playing as background score either while someone was in the thick of a romance or just out of it. We may no longer be the same people as when we first heard them, but it brings alive a memory of a time on youth. That alone is enough.

Yes watching a film or show at age 10 or age 20 or age 30 will give us 3 different reactions

Yes that's 100% true!

That what happens when they show some actress getting attracted to him.

In reality no doctor behaves in such a manner. Its like we as audiences get a kick by seeing such characters.

I disgrace that movie, Shahid succeeded in me hating the character. Although am a fan of him since he debuted.

In the movie making, Bas show some strong feelings, a RICH person can do anything, career is strong, etc. and here we have a lovable character.

RHTDM is a remake of Tamil movie Minnale and the Tamil movie was a sleeper hit in TN and ran in theaters for many months whereas the Hindi movie just about managed to float in box office.

Mandy was fabulous in both the movies and the songs were melodious in both.

RHTDM became a hit due to its good soundtrack and Maddy-Dia’s chemistry.

Story wise, I didn’t like both the versions becoz a deceiver gets the girl in the end.
