The majority can be fools. That is the point here. That's the point everybody is making. Ram Mohan Roy fought to make Sati illegal when the majority supported it. Witch burning was a POPULAR sport in the West in the 18th century. The MAJORITY of people believed once that sun revolves around the Earth.
Looks like I have to start a lesson on history and common sense next.
P.S. Speaking about other people's upbringing shows what yours was truly like. Thanks for doing it. đ
Oh, jumping on subjects now. From teaching politics to teaching history., science.
Have you heard of Shivaji's mother Jijabai who raised him? She was a widow. Lakshmibai of Jhansi, Chennamma of Kittur, who fought against British were widows. Rani Ahalyadevi Holkar who rebuilt Kashi Vishwanath Temple was a widow.
Yes there were Sati incidents present. But there were also people who lived and were respected by society. That's with your history teaching.
Heliocentric theory did not appear on earth as "faith". It was the imagination of curious minds like Aristotle. Religions came later. They borrowed the concepts, established them as facts and made Science a prisoner. But Science freed itself from the imposers.
A statement will not become truth because an authority said so. Be it Church or AIIMs. It should be backed by evidences. That's with your Science teaching.
Lastly about your words. So those words are your self acquisitions, is it? That's such a great achievement. So unfortune, I was giving credits to someone else.
