If you were Payal(Amrita Rao's character) in Ishq Vishk, would you have forgiven Rajiv(Shahid Kapoor's character)? Not only did he play her, he said some pretty nasty things to her and started dating another girl almost immediately afterwards.

I know I wouldn't have, though it wouldn't have been an easy decision to make. But self-respect is just as important, if not more, than love and in this case, the guy was too much of a jerk.

I think yeah, because Shahid's character Rajeev went into another relationship after breaking up with Amrita's character Payal. That's true that he said very nasty things to her which was not so easy to forgive, then comes the fact that they were actually childhood friends and shared so many memories together, so the affection had always been there. Rajeev actually felt guilty afterwards for everything and couldn't move on completely, Alisha (the 2nd female lead) was just his infatuation. When Alisha realised it herself, then she walked away from the relationship. So overall if I was in the place of Alisha then it would be difficult for me to forgive him, but if I was in the place of Payal, then I suppose the forgiveness would be comparatively easier.

Anhaa no..when rajeev wasn't thinking twice abt his childhood friend ship wid payal while saying nasty things to her..and then ghosted her..also tricked her into believing they were in a relationship in the first place (in the 1st half)...i dont think payal should have forgiven him that quickly...

she should have given some attitude, made him respect her gradually, made him realize she shouldn't be taken for granted again or she isn't some back up option who is available 24/7.

And then forgive him and they lived happily ever after 😁

She actually forgave him quite easily..

This was the kind of story that should have had Payal forgive him but only stay as friends and Rajeev feel even more bad and then have him grovel at a reunion 10 years later when Payal is also single.

Sorry suddenly it sounded like Rahul and Anjali —- yeah kind of, but minus the girl and the first love dying and the tomboy becoming a saree wearer....you know minus the patriarchal bs!

Just Payal growing up to be an amazing graphic artist or a writer and Rajeev taking over his dad business and always thinking of Payal.

I wouldn't have- rajiv was too much of an immature brat for me to catch feelings for in the first place. Also he misbehaved with Payal and forced her to do stuff she wasn't comfortable doing.

But I understand why Payal forgave him, and I do think they would have been a successful couple in the long run. Neither characters are perfect though. Rajiv is that chauvinist who wants the hottest girl to date, but very quickly becomes the controlling boyfriend. No doubt he would have been a controlling husband too. Payal is very docile and soft natured so I think she would have been ok with it.

Yup. Rajeev was immature and a brat, yes.. but he did realize the folly of his ways.. he was a typical college brat who wanted to be popular.. but he realized where he was wrong and I guess that's important..

Hard no. Like the stupid getting together with Payal for the sake of having a GF and then immediately dating Alisha cuz she's hotter I might forgive. But the one thing I'd never forgive is when he puts hands on her after she said no and then forces the issue. Like I don't care if we're dating or married or whatever, I say no and you push me, I'm leaving you and not coming back.

100% would have. He was a kid who was trying to be popular and break in with the cool crowd. Who hasn't been guilty of that?

He redeemed himself at the end though. And was a good friend to Amrita by the end. Quite a well written character for a debut film. He wasnt at all a chocolate boy!

True

And I particularly liked that they made him apologize to Payal publicly..
