He was just a teenager. I would've forgiven but maybe made him work a bit more for forgiveness. But the public apology was soooo cute, hard to not be moved by that

Who is most loved character in gen 4?
He was just a teenager. I would've forgiven but maybe made him work a bit more for forgiveness. But the public apology was soooo cute, hard to not be moved by that
Payal forgave rajiv too easily specially after everything he did.. I wished they would have shown Payal chosing some other decent guy over rajiv and chose to remain just friends with him
Well, if he was just a bf I would have never. But if I had too much feelings, history and childhood memories with him I may give a chance but after making him feel REALLY SORRY!
No way...
I’d never accept a guy who’s only coming back to me because he realised that girls “better” (prettier, richer, etc.) than me wont listen to whatever he says like I would 😒
This story was actually super regressive and outdated even for its times some 15 years ago... the only reason it did well was because of Shahid and Amrita being it it 🤷🏽♀️

I'm going to call you All That Cuckoo from now on for wanting to watch this movie.
Nope, they were supposed to be childhood friends and if your childhood friend doesn't think twice before disrespecting you and your emotions just so that he can be counted as someone 'cool', I don't think there was a friendship to begin with. Dude actually knew what she felt for him and used it to his advantage. Friends don't do that. So sorry, not happening.
At max they should have ended up as friends, and that too distant ones..
I watched this movie years ago, I don't even remember the story but I remember all the songs amrita shahid did together, I was shocked when I found out shahid was dating kareena, they were a mismatch couple, kareena looked older than him by many years because he has a boyish look, he should've married amrita rao or at least did more movies with her, maybe now hopefully. Loved their pairing and of course ayesha pairing with shahid was cute too.
I think we should stop judging these characters in the movie because they are just written fake story made up by the writer, it's just for entertainment. Of course sometimes fake story look similar to real life story
Rajiv was a complete @$$ from the beginning of the movie right till the end of it.
Mambo was a cheapster but he was a better friend and had more integrity than Rajiv.
Payal was a sweet pushover you couldn't help but want to slap sense into.
That's the basic character description. Shahid and Amrita have a great chemistry onscreen and that made people root for them. Otherwise how or why Payal was obsessed with Rajiv in the first place remains a mystery. That scrapbook was corny AF and I hope no self-respecting girl obsesses over a jackass like Rajiv even in their teens.
Most of the teenagers are guilty of trying to appear "cool," so it's not exactly sinful, but openly disrespecting your friends the way Rajiv does is also not remotely inspirational or worth admiring. He is disrespectful through and through.
After his fling with Payal falls through, he aggressively pursues Alisha to look "popular" all over again. We also get glimpses of his desi chauvinistic and controlling traits when he starts getting uncomfortable with Alisha's outfits and independence. Catch-22 alert there: He was attracted to her BECAUSE she was like that but the same traits of her start bothering him down the line.
Basically, the guy has ZERO self-esteem and didn't even think he was capable of wooing a girl without weaving one massive web of lies. It's great that he comes to some sort of a "realization" at the end but I didn't like how he, again, gets his way by creating a spectacle out of his apology. Payal is just too nice for him.
I would have liked to see a year of Rajiv sucking up to Payal, doing her homework, taking notes for her and groveling everywhere for forgiveness. Somewhat similar to the punishment Bipasha dishes out to Ranbir in Bachna Ae Haseeno after he leaves her at the altar.

Yup... Shahid made a great pair with Amrita and Ayesha. I was horrified to learn that he was dating Kareena too. 😵 No wonder their movies didn't do well till JWM.
What exactly was Rajeev's fault? That he like any other guy from his generation didn't believe in true love? That he didn't return back the same feelings Payal had for him? Why is he supposed to have the same intensity in his love like Payal?
Rajeev was like any other guy who wanted to become popular in college and needed a girlfriend for that. Forgive him for wanting things which any guy of his age usually wants. Payal was in love with him, that doesn't mean he has to also be in love with her. It was not his fault if Payal was a pure and pious girl who believed love is like what it's shown in Bollywood movies.
Rajeev proposed her to become his girlfriend, big deal!!! He only said that he was in love, not that he'll marry her or anything. Not his fault if mohtarma ne shaadi tak ka plan bana liya just based on one proposal. Payal was a girl who didn't live in the real world. She should've known that couples break up all the time even if they were very serious about each other previously.
Here they have just started dating and she's fasting for him as if she's his wife. Like what the hell? First know each other properly. Spend some time and see if it works out. And Rajeev had the full right to walk away from that relationship any time he wanted. Even if he was not serious about it, that's his choice. Here people are too much stressing on this fact of Payal being in love with Rajeev since childhood. That's not love in the first place. It's crush, and forgive him if he didn't return back those feelings and also forgive him if he expected Payal to be a mature girl who knows how to move on from a relationship.
Even Payal realized later on that it was her fault for expecting too much in this relationship just because she's the one in love.
