I agree with her on the fact that inital opportunities for them were based off their god gifted looks and not merit as actors so to speak

Yes they ramp walked and worked hard and groomed themselves for showbiz...but since ppl are so concerned abt real acting talent being sidelined by nepo kids, this argument is valid and holds water

Irfan, nawaaz, even vidya, nimrit didn’t fit into the regular hero heroine mould despite knowing how to act and were disadvantaged for no fault of theirs

Is it fair for them to lash out at ppl who are given more opportunities despite not being as “talented” as them? or is talent subjective and based on the requirement of the role?
I wouldn’t cast a vidya if I was making BANG BANG...talented or not, Katrina fits the bill better there despite vidya being the obviously better actress

Ppl need to realise when actors get opportunities there are multiple factors that come into play including suitability to role..and not just the so called merit they advocate for ...art is subjective not quantifiable

The brainwashing is real...i doubted myself . Sometimes I feel we are brainwashed to dislike Katrina's acting too.

These ppl who neither have talent or great looks mouthing away about others is all what is wrong about Bollywood insiders.

there is a lot of gaslighting going on with critics and so called legends of the industry with their over the top praises for mediocre and below average performances... Kareena and her cousin are the biggest example, its like you hear so much about how they're so talented that people believe that.. Alia too but i guess the praises she got was so over the top that a lot of people questioned her "talent"...

Well katrina's debut was a trashy C grade movie

Is she nuts or nuts?! Aren't looks one of the major criteria along with talent and all!

No one's going to watch Ugly actors perform on screen!

But at least they worked hard to get noticed. No denying their looks/peagent title got them the initial opportunity to act in movie.

They were not papped with their famous parents and had fan clubs praise them to the sky. Who in their right mind would be a Shanaya or Ananya or Suhana fan? What have they done exactly? But this girls are and will be given a chance without any BW standard beauty or talent. No one is ugly but BW has a certain standard which even star kids have to fulfil hence the numerous surgeries.

Zoya is an example of nepotism, her movies are mediocre at the best but praised so much because of her being a female director etc. I saw Gully Boy and it is a good watch but not Oscar worthy, nor were RS or Alia that great.

The pap culture needs to stop and seriously start auditioning talents from theatre and drama institute.

Sonam Kapoor agree with this.

“in BW, if you are not good looking they think u are a good actor.” : Sonam Good Looking Kapoor

Sorry to say but there is nothing wrong and it’s true. their Talent came later but don’t tell me They auditioned to get a role. Aishwarya still acts very average and Bhansali got the best out of her. She still today is being praised more for her looks then anything else. there is a genetic advantage and yes you can’t blame them that they have the look.

it’s the same for deepika. Imagine you get a best debut award when your voice is synchronize in the movie. And she did even took more movies than Aish to show her merit.

With time they got better and both have the X-factor to get the attention still you can’t deny it’s their beauty that gave them the ticket not their acting talent.

There are tons of actresses and models that are extremely beautiful but still don’t make it. Not like Aish though, but still beautiful.

The argument that it’s beauty alone is futile. They have other qualities along with their sheer hard work. They didn’t have anyone to guide them to success or make movies specifically to cast them.

It’s funny how they try to undercut the success and hard work of others just because they have nothing significant to add to their CV 😆

Lots of nepo kids don't make it either. Daughter of superstars Hema and Dharam end up being a huge flop. Govinda's kids couldn't even get a launch. There are so many examples like that.

Pretty privilege exists for sure. People like Deepika and Aish had smooth entries into BW and never even had to audition and didn't have any talent either. They didn't go to acting school or do plays and didn't start off in television or anything.

Nepo kids are born with connections while others are born with beauty. Both have nothing to do with talent.

Watch the director's commentary on the Om Shanti Om dvd. Farah talks for 3 hours straight and she outright talks about what a bad actress Deepika is and how it's so hard to get her to give the right reactions - like if the character is supposed to look scared, they have to scare Deepika for real to get her to give the right expression.
