I agree with you on the poor standards of journalism in India, but that doesn't mean there are no good journalists. There are quite a few, but they don't get the backing from the media organizations that employ them. No matter how hard you work on a story, if the editor doesn't green light the story, it will not get published. The editors will obviously take the risk into account while publishing risque stories, and blinds like this would never be listed as articles with the names.

Agree with you on this. Have read about so many journalists falling into depression because of this. Things have changed now, there are always upper hands that control the media which makes it hard for real news to be published. Everything is sugar-coated. In the US, they can even comment on their head of state, their president but can they do that here without facing death threats and backlash?

Well if its a genuine news then my dear journalist have guts to come out and call out say the name. Or if you are chickening then STOP writing about it.

Yep from today, MM. If BI and news had that much effect, Salman Khan wouldn't have such a huge fanbase, and the same with Akshay, Ajay and even Aamir.

Wouldn't it be better if we advocate for the shutting down of the television and film industry? These are the industries that make young people dream the impossible. The same industries that are so murky, creepy, selfish and dangerous. Will it not stop deaths, suicide, rape, molestation, casting couch if we asked for these industries to be shut down? I hate hearing about how these industry people take advantage of the vulnerable, the ones who come to Mumbai with dreams in their eyes!

And while we are at that, ban news channels who use every happening news to increase their TRPs without a single thought about the people involved.

do you know what happened to that journalist who DARED to write the truth about Salman's court case? He was sued! He had not enough money or power to fight, poor guy went depressed fighting this until he had to retract his findings.

So then the media can fight against those laws. Go to court. Do what's right.

But nah, they are not interested. They don't care. As long as their business keeps running, truthful news has no meaning to them.

He shouldn't have to fight with his money. The media organization he works for should be responsible for backing him up. It's because desi media is totally corrupt and they have no care in the world about printing what's true. They deliberately spread fake news, print word for word press releases, copy articles from other media organizations, plagiarize without credit, and dump gossip and lies in the form of blinds.

I was checking up on some journos a while ago and most of them don't even go to journalism school. They have NO clue what the work is supposed to be. They can't even follow the format a news story is supposed to have because they've never learned it. 99% of journos are people who couldn't hack it in other fields and wandered over to journalism, especially film journos.

Boycott blind items please. If we are encouraging one blind item even if it looks relatively harmless then we are encouraging the harmful ones too .
