Even this one is not harmless. How do we know it's fighting injustice? It could be totally false. What effect does it have on a company and producer's reputation if people start thinking they are cheapsters who don't pay salaries and keep making fake excuses? It would start speculations that they have bad business practices or that they are close to bankruptcy or a million other things.

It isn't just affair blinds that hurt and malign people.

No I didn't know, but

But this actually made me aware how big of a bully that man is. All I'm saying is If you can't write the truth then its better not to be written about. Since entertainment industry has a lot to be written about than nameless blinds. The fact that its a nameless way of defaming someone is wrong in itself. This is NOT JOURNALISM let alone responsible journalism. Its called hearsay. A few blinds like these where Sushant was defamed(me too movement) may have triggered his emotional health makes me realize how bad it actually is.

This outrage will die down in a few weeks and all will be forgotten. The cycle will keep going.

I think journalists try to write the truth but when they are surpressed like this, they move on to other things. True, news that malign someone if not true should not be promoted. Then again, u have someone saying how Sushant lost 7 films which was not the case at all. But he said it and damage has been done!

I dont think Sushant was defamed at all because whatever was reported during the metoo m did happen, it was in the news. It was not serious like what his director friend did but it did happen. To claim that it was false would be to disclaim the person who felt uneasy because of this. These things happen, heroes do these kinds of stuffs all the time because they can. In his case, the production house quickly covered it up and to please the girl and her parents, they hired someone to be on the sets just to watch out. So you cant say all this is not true.

In Bollywood or even Hollywood, the heroes always matter. No one cares about the women!

Yep from today, MM. If BI and news had that much effect, Salman Khan wouldn't have such a huge fanbase, and the same with Akshay, Ajay and even Aamir.

Wouldn't it be better if we advocate for the shutting down of the television and film industry? These are the industries that make young people dream the impossible. The same industries that are so murky, creepy, selfish and dangerous. Will it not stop deaths, suicide, rape, molestation, casting couch if we asked for these industries to be shut down? I hate hearing about how these industry people take advantage of the vulnerable, the ones who come to Mumbai with dreams in their eyes!

And while we are at that, ban news channels who use every happening news to increase their TRPs without a single thought about the people involved.

Salman's fanbase isn't affected by anything lol. He's a whole criminal and abuser and still their Bhai. Akshay got sh*t scared of his MeToo blinds so much so that he apparently paid Aditi to shut up. Shah's affair with Priyanka was also a blind at first. They all have affected their image somehow. But when the people in power throwing blinds at each other, power balance is maintained. It cancels out. It's the people who can't give it back in kind that get most affected. Blinds hurt newbies more.

Why should be shut whole industries which run households of many because of shitty behavior of the few in power? Every nasty, predatory, unhealthy practice happens in other fields as well and more often than not, it is acknowledged and fixed. That should the goal.

I mean, a woman risks getting raped and molested just by stepping out of her house so should they stop going out? It's the streets that need to be fixed so that they are secure enough for her to walk.

News channels are a circus in India and need guidelines.

The point is the industry needs to get fixed.

Media will start blinds again and this forum will definitely indulge again just like the outrage will die down. It can't stay like this forever, ofcourse. This is, at the end of the day, a community to gossip about Bollywood. But maybe not today. Maybe for sometime media can pause. It's not a coincidence that Rajeev Masand is bonestill quiet since the incident.

stop for a while, yeah agree with you there. but hey man, I don't think I am going to get rape or molested once I step out of my house but if anyone I know wants to work in the film or television industry, I won't be comfortable with that. No matter how much talent you have, it's not going to be enough! Fixing the industry will never happen because they have been living like this for decades. From Raj Kapoor to Aditya Chopra, it's never-ending! Men are expected to compromise, women are expected to give something in return...It's horrible!

Yeah, it has run many households but it has also destroyed many in the process. How many have killed themselves? How many are depressed and how many finally left the industry?
