Omkara wasn't bigger hit. I didn't know that. It got so many awards that year especially Saif's performance was praised so much. That means amongst Vishal's Bhardwaj's Shakespeare's trilogy ,Haider was the biggest hit. Maqbool was flop and Omkara was average.

But Haider's success doesn't prove that our industry has moved towards it?

No. All omkara and cyrus did was show that Saif can act. But he was more interested in star power and went after yo roles where he just hammed

Saif is making excuses as to why he isn’t marketable 😂

Truth he was only marketable for like 2/3 years

All types of Films are made and audience laps them up. Only if they become well liked 👌

I agree to this, such movies don't earn much. Despite, I like such movies too and want them to do well But there is a reason behind this as people are already fed up of real life problems, films are for escaping from such problems and have fun for sometime, why would someone go and watch a depressing movie. It's a movie based on tragedy, and too horrifying to accept it.

The thing is the large action and comedy fare is always going to earn more than high concept dramas. It's easier to watch, and is fun with families. They however don't need to be as repetitive or low effort as Bollywood though.
