is Alias performance in highway overrated?

I didnt find her performance all that amazing. And her expressions were slighly off putting and OTT to me, I couldnt get past them. She was way better in udta punjab/Dear zindagi period. But people act like she went to the moon with highway.

Alia was terrible in Highway. Her character was written very sympathetically, the subject was unusual and Imtiaz was the critics/ audience darling after Jab we met. The stage was set.But Alia's performance left me totally unmoved. Everyone was predisposed to like the movie. Nobody wanted to refute. Because saying that a rape victim's trauma left you cold makes you(the audience) as a person seem very cold and callous.Also KJo and her PR got on the job and hoodwinked everyone. Kangana, though a nut-job is right to some extent.

Except 2-3 particular mainstream actors everyone is overrated for this forum so are their performances. 😆

Yep. And so is the movie. The child abuse angle was so contrived. Randeep' s performance and ARR's music were the saving grace.
