Do you feel appalled at the audience's choices?

I mean, how do they accept Baaghi 3 and reject Sky is Pink/ Panga?! There must be a strong sense of disconnect with the content, which is why they reject certain films, and that's understandable. Bt what is there in the cringe-fest to make them like it? The trailer was cringe at its worst. I haven't seen the film, it seemed to have tacky storyline and little or no plot.

Also, sometimes I feel audience is unpredictable. They reject bad films like Kalank and Street Dancer, bad films with bad content. But then they give a thumbs up to Baaghi 3, and there goes my sense of faith in the cinema-going audience. I might sound elitist, but I would love to know what people see in such films.

“Escapist cinema at its best. Tiger’s power-packed act and chemistry + dazzling action pieces + stunning visual appeal + ample thrills, twists, suspense... Dear BO, get ready for the typhoon. #Baaghi3Review,” a fan tweeted.

Perhaps these elements(above) makes it hardcore entertainment?

Surely I'm missing out on something here.

Audience only cares about entertainment. Boring master piece rakhoge toh paise bhi pieces mein hi milenge.

depends on your definition of entertainment. How does a movie which insults your intelligence be called entertaining?

you have to realise that movies are a means of escape.

people already has 100s of problems in their life..

they go to movies to escape that and immerse into a world where anything is possible and bad things are eliminated etc

why go and watch a sad and realistic film filled with life problems , when there is plenty in real life. !

I get what you're saying, but realism need not always be equated with sad. I mean, Panga was a happy, chirpy, sunshiny film but look at its fate.

People just want to have a good time. Not sit and become next Einstein. Family aur friends ke saath Mazey karne jaate hain log movies, IQ badhane nahi.

Smart movies ki audience alag hai.

Rejection is too strong a word. I think people just don't want to pay for low budget films like Panga or The Sky is Pink. There's nothing there anybody would want to rush to the theater for.

They know they can watch it at home later for free.

People pay for stuff like Avengers because it's worth watching on a huge screen because it's a spectacle. It's also herd mentality. All your friends will be talking about the movie so you don't want to miss it either and look pathetic.

Do people really go by low budget and big budget when deciding on a film? Isn't it the core elements like storytelling, content, acting?

As I am part of said audience no I don’t feel appalled.

Im glad it’s happening. When a film fails hopefully the next one works and if not maybe the individuals involved aren’t cut out for this line of work.
