The last month of the year has seen two big releases – Salman Khan‘s Dabangg 3 which stars Sonakshi Sinha, Saiee Manjrekar and directed by Prabhu Dheva and multistarrer Good Newwzstarring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor. The Salman Khan starrer released on December 20 ahead of Christmas whereas Akshay Kumar starrer is the last release of the year that hit the silver screens on December 27.

Both the films have released in overseas and have been doing decent business. While Dabangg 3released a week earlier than Good Newwz, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjhand Kiara Advani, it is Akshay Kumar starrer that is making waves at the box office.

Dabanng 3 continued with low business on its second Monday with business of 2 crore nett takings its 11 day collections to 126.50 crore nett. The film may be able to get a second week of 20 crore nett if its a good jump on Wednesday which is a holiday..

After Wednesday there will not be much business coming for the film and its looking a 135-140 crore nett finish for the film and that is not even enough to put it among the top ten grossers of 2019. The fact that films like Chhichhore, Super 30 and Dream Girl will be doing more business than Dabangg 3 pretty much tells the story of this film. The business of Dabangg 3 till date is as follows.

Dabangg 3 Third Friday Business

Dabanng 3 collected just 50 lakhs nett on its third Friday which will mean another 80% drop in collections this week which means it will be a struggle to reach the 140 crore nett mark. Next week the film will hardly see any collections due to the release of new films.

The fair value of this film can be around 155-160 crore nett or even a little more due to the issues its faced in its first weekend. It could even be a little more as you cant judge public psyche at that time but even if its more the film is still a disappointment as eventually you should cover some of those losses and sustain if you have merits which this film did not.
