Tom takes as much time as any actor doing method acting in character driven roles. He prepares for his action sequences months in advance and they rehearse it countless times. So the actual days of shooting is less but if rehearsals are counted then it does account to being more and then HW takes a long time to edit and of course special effects.

Here is an example of how Tom works. So Akshay should stop giving HW movie as an example. They all have passion to work better and do better.

As I said earlier have watched a lot of the Ford v Ferrar promo interviews...this reminded me in one of the promo interviews Matt did for Ford v Ferrari he talked about a conversation he had with Tom regarding the walking down the building stunt in MI. Tom told Matt that he had been dreaming about this sequence for 15 years then when he told the safety guy that he wanted to do that stunt that person told him it was impossible, unsafe so Tom fired the guy and hired a person who will allow him to do the stunt. That is his dedication level.

And Here this idiot is taking MI and Tom’s name in vain when it comes to passion and making movies in days. Like Tom makes 6000 movies in a year 😑Someone should show this to him. 😑

Irrespective of whether people likes MI movies or not, but it is true that most BW action movies , over the past 15 years has been highly inspired by major MI action sequences, which both Tom and the crew had taken years to plan and execute.

And not only for MI movies, in every movie which Cruise is the leading man, he gives his all for his character, his characters look easy and solid onscreen but the preparation phase is as difficult as it can get. For edge of tomorrow both him and Emily blunt has to go through a lot of training and physical exhaustion for their stunts, also Tom Cruise dedicated 400 days in his prime for a movie like Eyes wide shut, yes that is true, other producers were mad at him and he even left many quick entertainers for doing Eyes wide shut where Stanley kubrick needed him to give 400 days, and similarly he dedicates as much as he can for his every movie. Also, he had given a lot of days to play Vincent in Collateral, where his performance was mind blowing, he never compromises with the quality of his films.

The only movie for which he probably did not prepare was Knight and Day .🤣. surprisingly that was a fun movie too and ohh yes BW has an official remake of this movie which by Cruise's standards was one of his few bad movies.. However Bang bang was still enjoyable for Hrithik.. THANK GOD

Akshay was comparing character driven movies, where its actors are getting into the skin of their characters, with Mission Impossible.

and also have 10x of a bollywood movie budget so :-D

IKR?

And that coming from one note Akki about (mostly)one note Tom Cruise (in the MI series TC is literally doing action stunts and that's about it, not that much 'acting' there) is even more ridiculous- like isn't Akki known for being same -same in every movie?

Of course each actor can try 'get into the role' the way they want- Akki is usually playing normal day to day people- and I guess that's easier, because he sees those people around him every day..he probably is inspired by acting like his driver, his cook, his cleaner and so on...

Yes, he can do his own process the way he wants- but by putting down Ranveer and HR and Aamir 's methods just shows how much it bothers him that those 3 get a lot of appreciation for their acting and are considered as good actors.. Or maybe he's just that petty in real life..yet he pretends to be this magnanimous, friendly person.

I saw this before in other awards or interviews: he's been shading everyone that takes time for prep.. many times I think he's as much of a snake as KJo... just he's showing his ''fangs'' less..

****Again, good for him that he can get hits and fool people into paying for his movies when they aren't always entertaining or have any great qualities..but a bit of humility would go a long way***

Oh absolutely. That’s why theirs looks better. They have the means and resources to deliver the best. That’s why even when a Bollywood production boasts of hiring Oscar winner special effects director or a stunt coordinator the final product is still missing something. It’s never on par with a Hollywood flick.

But Akshay has actually won a National Award which none of the other three have, yet. I mean I know his NA win was mired in controversy. But he still got it and will have it for the rest of his life. So his behavior and words fall more on the petty side. Or maybe he feels or knows that despite that NA the general consensus will always be that he’s not the actor that those other guys are.

He was doing really well for a while with his movies doing great and his image being more or less intact. Looked like he had even survived the PC controversy. But it seems like he’s losing grip on things now. Getting caught in lies and saying idiotic things.

Agreed, but TUMBBAD proved that an INDIAN CAN MAKE An EXCELLENT MOVIE ON a LOW BUDGET.

(heck even Andhadhun or Gully Boy were great and made on low budget)

And beat HW at their own game.

Trust me, if Tumbbad had a HW banner behind it, this movie would have been EVERYWHERE!!!!

@bold: exactly my reasoning.

Akki is desperate to get appreciation, gets mad because he isn't AS appreciated as Aamir, Ranveer, HR and he is mainly considered a non-actor - so he counters with these petty remarks.

Insecurity.
