Piku was a sublime sweet film that actually nuanced the Bengali culture, specially bengalees who stayed in delhi……

Plus its subtle environment awarenesss actions-remember Deepika clearing the wash basin in the kitchen, only then Amitabh got water in his flush??? it was because waste water in the house was recycled to flush instead of being connected to direct clean water supply....Kudos to the makers for inserting this in the film...

Its natural for them to come to know about it late since they are not Indians. That makes them more genuine as they watched a foreign movie randomly and connected to the characters.

Also they often act like oh India is soooo great n America is horrendous n you can tell they're doing it to please subscribers. Indians too I'll say react so badly to constructive criticism,if any reaction channel says anything bad about a film or rel Indians in the comment section giving galis ,like relax not everyone is going to like every Indian film. Also the please react to this please react to that in the comment section comes off as so desperate at times, why do we need white people to acknowledge us so badly.

I saw the review n I think they actually didn't understand the nuances of the movie as much as one needs to fully enjoy the experience. The cultural difference of taking care of parents no matter what, family is family n u never give up of them , these r very Asian values they probably didn't connect much to. The Bengali non bengali equation 😂I think only Indians can understand that. That said I liked the review. And I liked how they picked up on shoojit's direction style,a lot of improv. The knife scene was a lot of improv at the moment, even Deepika throwing the knife away was her improving.

I am sorry I got kinda over reactive cz piku is such a special film. Shoojit made it with so much love. From piku gently rubbing parachute oil in her hair to the kakima wearing maxi at house, everything was so relatable so real to what a Bengali family is. ahhh love this film n Deepika as piku

Oh I totally get it. It does come across as very desperate to get American approval the way people request them to react to this or that. I feel though that sometimes if the reactors are genuine, they give you a perspective that you wouldn't have got from an Indian? You know because of the cultural difference. They obviously can't get all the references in the movie but it's interesting to see what they do catch up on and how they connect it to their own experience or values. That's only when they're genuine though lol

I really loved Piku when it came out and I'm so sad that it's been so long and Deepika has taken so long to come out with another movie in the contemporary space. I wish she did more work like this. Piku is <3

They're one of the American reaction channels that are looking into some Bollywood stuff now. So, they watch old movies also and give their reviews.

I love these two idiots. They work really hard, while people may say inferiority complex and all, but I think many also want people from outside to know about our stuffs. And I don't think these two fake it. They are quite honest about their reviews.

the reason they do that opening stuff is because people commented they loved all the ''instagram, Twitter'', ''Juicy Content'' and so on. So they kept those stuffs and repeat it.

Never was a big fan of Deepika's work in the past, but this is honestly one of my favorite films in recent times and I must say it is because of Deepika's performance. She was brilliant as Piku. The nuances in her performance were perfect.
