But yes, there was a time after that when I was interested in Katrina. I saw something in her. There were several other actresses we met too. All of them are my friends. So I discussed my film with a bunch of women. The stars were shinning on me when Deepika agreed because of all the people in the film, her contribution and commitment was the deepest. She holds her own against Ranbir. People fell in love with Shah Rukh Khan in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge because of Kajol, because of the way she falls in love with him. It's the same with Ranbir. You love him because of Deepika.

This Filmfare interview was done after the release of YJHD.He gave the credit for the success of YJHD to DP..He was right.DP's career soared after YJHD..and RK's..well we all know.

Katrina was pretty much on board for YJHD. Ranbir even confirmed in some video where he was answering fan questions... but Dhoom 3 kept getting delayed and ended up clashing with YJHD.
She chose a project with Aamir and yrf.
Ayan even made that joke on KWK that a he heard Kat was in Dhoom 3, because she had such less screen time.
KJo thanked Deepika in some award show for coming on board when Kat refused. It was a show salman was hosting and they were playing koffee with Karan on stage.

Atleast this time she is pleading and not kjo for her

I remember reading somewhere that Ayan was looking at DP or Kat for Brahmstra but eventually settled for Alia because it's a trilogy taking ten years to make and Alia will still look young by the third movie. She was only 20 when this movie was announced and it wasn't expected that it wouldn't start for another five years. But now this new admission by Alia kinda of negates that. So maybe this was just an excuse by KJo to justify why Alia got this role.

Alia is such an unaware and tone deaf person that I can totally see her thinking "pleading for roles counts as an audition. Didn't she tell Masand that telling Abhishek she wants Kalank was the time she truly struggled for a role?

I thought lobbying for movie roles is a common practice done by all. Only Alia will be stupid enough to go around talk about it and term it as a struggle 😆. I don't think people just take her because she makes a wish and blackmails like a baby. They take her because she is commercially successfully and Dharma back her choices with their money. Now with her failing who knows maybe things will change . Oh how I wish both SLB and Rajamouli drops her but thats not gonna happen, I know. But she just proves she can't fit in all roles. I guess she only sees big names and projects and wishes to be a part of it.
