Alia is such an unaware and tone deaf person that I can totally see her thinking "pleading for roles counts as an audition. Didn't she tell Masand that telling Abhishek she wants Kalank was the time she truly struggled for a role?

But I think we must applaud Alia for convincing people to take her, that's also not easy and requires a talent

Oh yes. So much struggle. The fact that she had to pick up a phone and tell the director that she'd be 'very upset' if he doesnt give her the role. Oh my god. 😲 That must have been traumatic for her. She's so strong and she had to do it all by herself.😭 #Selfmade.

I thought lobbying for movie roles is a common practice done by all. Only Alia will be stupid enough to go around talk about it and term it as a struggle😆. I don't think people just take her because she makes a wish and blackmails like a baby. They take her because she is commercially successfully and Dharma back her choices with their money. Now with her failing who knows maybe things will change . Oh how I wish both SLB and Rajamouli drops her but thats not gonna happen, I know. But she just proves she can't fit in all roles. I guess she only sees big names and projects and wishes to be a part of it.

Lobbying for parts is common yes! Shraddha also admitted to doing it a few years back, one movie was ABCD where I believe she showed her interest in doing the movie to Varun who then suggested it to Remo.
Katrina approached her director for Fitoor.

The problem with Alia's situation is the constant need to show her as this director's favourite and how everyone wants to sign her when the reality is just something else. Turns out now that even Dharma's directors themselves don't see her as an initial choice until she hears about the movie and approaches them.
