The fact of the matter is Alia has no competition right now. Audience loves her. Plus, she can act. Her movies do well at the box office and most of them get praised by critics too.

Karan Johar isn't in the charity business. If Alia wasn't useful to him, he would not give "tailor made" roles to her. Look at how fast he dropped Imran Khan (who btw was his only "worthy" contender against Ranbir for a long ass time), Rani M, Priety Zinta, Kareena, Abhisekh Bacchan etc. once they were no longer relevant at the box office. Karan tried so hard to push Abhisekh in the mid-2000s but audience rejected AB .So, at the end of the day, people decide who they like. And they like Alia, overwhelmingly.

Yeh sab toh thik hain but will you deny that her roles are tailormade ? 😆

Funny you should mention this. During the launch ARK and Varun made fun of it and she pulled Madhuri in the convo to mask her inability. She went further and said " We both had difficulty right?" looking and pulling madhuri. When ARK didn't stop teasing her . She emphasized on Madhuri too having difficulty. Then Madhuri had to agree. That is when I stopped watching 😆

LMAOOO. This girl and her ability to self drag. 😆

That is totally irrelevant to me. 😆 I pay to watch good acting. I am personally sick of watching wooden plank Hindi film heroines so its refreshing to watch an actress that can get her dialogue delivery right in every film.

I already answered it. It is "tailor made" BUT that is completely irrelevant to me so why should I care. 😆

tailor made means that she has good roles "tailor made" for her meaning they are given to her pretty easily. she doesnt really have to work for them. she shines in them b/c the roles for her are basically amazing. all her roles are from films that are crtiically acclaimed.
miscast is that she is not the best representative for those roles, someone else may have done a better job

I dont think thats true...
I am not a "fan" of anyone. but I do not like the fact that she does not have competition b/c of unfair privilege.

and even if she is useful to him, that doesnt make it okay for him to force her down and use influence and power to make a big star just b/c he can. and he does...he does give her roles that none of her contemporaries get easily on their own. also if she was leading an independent career..which she doesnt, she would also be given in films in a fair way. if alia wasnt in all those films, and kjo didnt involve himselff-directors would actually look at the pool of actresses and pick from that. not just alia b/c dharma is producing and kjo is involved

and im almost confident karan asks will you be okay if alia is in it if I produce. and they agree..maybe b/c they want to they genuinely want to which im sure has happened, but there is still influence involved with this. they may have had another actress in bind despite going on board. prime example is dear zindagi

The problem with Alia situation is that she hasn't seen any failures and when she will face the failure, no one will be able to help her..not even papa Kjo.

even if she faces failure...she has reached a point where it wont effect her. she will still get good roles and films.
I think she will be able to handle failure...she wont be able to handle bad reviews from critics on a performance. I think the industry has spoiled her in thinking she is the high and mighty talent that can do anything..when in actuality there are people who are better. i think she will suffer from this notion that there are people who are better than her.
