A Raazi opening at 7.5 Cr gives Alia much more of a perception boost than a Badri opening at 12 or even a Gully Boy at 19 Cr. If your last film had a good opening but the movie failed it will always put a dent in your bo pull. Similarly Padma as a movie making huge money increased Ranveer's bo pull.

That is the CRUX of this whole matter of stardom...PERCEPTION

Nowadays perception is created not thru actual movie hits/flops/acting, but how the star sells himself or herself in the media

RK has bigger hits than his contemporaries but stars like RS or Alia push their image in the media so hard that it seems they are bigger stars than Ranbir, its all abt who has the bigger and stronger PR machine.

RK has bigger hits and others are PR stars?? 😆 If RK has a Sanju, he has gemstones like BV and JJ. And that too in recent years. People conveniently forget it. IMO, that makes him unreliable and damned inconsistent. RS definitely is in a better place than RK at this moment with Padma, Simmba and GB. At this moment being the key. Like it or not, thats the truth!

There is no certain formulae to judge stardom. Most of the time people go with box office success, but that also depends on alot of factors like hype, genre, stardom of co-star etc. Opening days can be more accurate but only to a certain degree. You can't compare a film releasing on a non-holiday with a clash, with a film releasing solo on a holiday.

Even hits and flops don't determine what is stardom, as fans don't stop following a star after couple of flops. The neutral audience will, but they are neutral and fickle. One good movie, and they will be back.

RK might've alot of Flops in recent years, but the people who mock him for that, are you sure your favorite would've made those films a Hit? Could your favourite make BV a hit which was rejected by the audience from the first trailer itself?...or JJ which was an experimental film as well as a delayed release? If not then is your favorite really better than his rival?

Sorry but this "what if" business is never ending. Lets not even try getting into that.

Fact is RK did choose those films and they did tank badly. Same with "my fav" as people put. Ranveer did choose befikre and it tanked. One cant undo facts. If one wants, they can still convince themselves that their fav is still ahead and a poor victim of PR.

IMO, the position for young stars changes with every movie and cannot be solid like what once khans had.

You want to hear facts? Highest opening day of RK is Sanju with 34 Crores. RS highest opening day? Just 20 Crores. Your favorite is yet to beat kal ka launda Tiger in opening day figures.

Like you said, ranking keeps on changing per movie for young actors. Ranbir's latest movie is Sanju, not BV or JJ. Those movies were released 2-3 years ago. If you are counting those then also count DDD and Befikre.

Ranbir IS a bigger star than Ranveer but keep convincing yourself.
