[I still don't get why producers ("round table" reference) decide actor's remuneration based on their opening day 1... just doesn't make sense to me since they aren't the only reason why audience decide to watch a movie on day 1]

Also while public exhibitors and critics are happy about movies doing great more than one week.
Distributors and Producers generally look for stars who bring in huge first week, as it is the time when ticket price are high and their share is more, because as weeks go on by, their share drop.
While still profits, but a huge first week is always what distributors desire.
Hence actors whose movie depend on WOM, don't get much hype from the producers and distributors.

I am giving them the credit that they deserve.
But they aren't Khans who bring huge opening just on their name. They need padding, just like everyone else.
Hence you see why Akki despite having such following in North India, never gets huge opening, because he hardly gets padding.

Ranbir is a more senior actor in terms of his debut, he is more well established as an actor in terms of BO, hes worked with variety of directors, top actresses and PHs whereas Alia is limited to one PH mainly.
