I know what you are trying to say but again the amount of screens is not the issue here. This type of movie in today's time has barely any audience theatrically. There are other elements working here too: severe lack of buzz, the face value of star cast. But the people who wanted to watch this movie, they did. For others, they weren't simply intrigued at all as there were better alternatives.
Moreover, it is a business they are running there. As an exhibitor and distributor, you wanna release movies in your local theatres that would be deemed at least profitable. It's not a charity show to "appreciate" artistic value. There's a different medium for that. This sort of movie was always meant to be on streaming platforms.
